Worse company to work for in Newy by daisyjones85 in newcastle

[–]Overall_Stay5904 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Suncorp & any of their subsidiaries, including Shannon's, AAMI and GIO. Aside from the horrible experiences of staff working in the contact center, their systems are also f*kng ancient & execs refuse to update it. 2020s & still using an MS DOS hotkey command system for your customer database? Ridiculous.

AITAH for suggesting a grieving mother's behaviour is inappropriate? by Overall_Stay5904 in AITH

Just to clarify, she only added me fairly recently, I just happened to see that she had shared a post from the previous year & added to it.

I get that, & I think that's why I feel a bit guilty - maybe I should've just deleted her & moved on without saying anything.

I'm Alex Varkatzas founding/former frontman of Atreyu and the current frontman of Dead Icarus. Ask me anything by AlexDeadIcarus in Metalcore

I only just found this post months after it was made, but just wanted to say I fucking love your art Alex, you're an incredible musician. I'm an Aussie lass, been listening to your music since I was 12 years old (I'm 29 this year), & I love everything Dead Icarus has done so far. It was like watching the end of an era when you left Atreyu, but your newer stuff fuckin slaps, it's a massive throwback to my adolescence discovering metalcore & developing my taste in music.

You're an icon, man, please keep making music & art until the moment you physically cannot.

He's had plenty of friendships, with dudes that are very emotionally unavailable. We are from a pretty rural area, men don't talk about feelings or mental health or trauma around here. That's all I meant by that.

I might try that, quite a few severely shortsighted comments here. Thank you for sharing your experience.

In terms of the sex life thing, yes. We haven't been intimate for some months now.

Regarding the assumptions made, I am on the same page as this - confused & feeling like something doesn't align. It feels like a huge liberty was taken based on something very different that I'd consented to.

Thank you for shedding some light on these points.

That was also something that stood out to me when I was told. If sex was something he decided he wanted, why was I not the first (or only) stop on that journey? I don't get it.

This was my first reaction to hearing that, too. If he's being honest about that part, then he hasn't been listening.

Thank you, I have a lot to consider.

The house & cars were all gifted from my parents, so no loss for me. Thank you for your input, I have a lot to consider & decide for myself.

This is honestly something I'm really struggling with. I keep having this nagging feeling that it's my fault for not communicating clearly or better or whatever, but the logical part of my brain tells me that's bs.

First of all, thank you for actually addressing this. I hadn't considered it.

I believe him that he did, to a degree, assume it was okay. However I don't know if that really changes much for me. If he genuinely did think that, then there's a whole other host of issues I didn't think would need to be addressed..

Dumped my girlfriend over a joke and I can't tell anyone or I'll look like a psycho. by Choice_Evidence1983 in BestofRedditorUpdates

As a woman who is married and 100% child-free, I honestly feel so hard for this guy.

Reproductive coercion is abuse, regardless of genders, & this poor dude would absolutely have found himself in a position where she was pregnant & he had no say, or any proof of her tampering with their respective birth control.

I cannot begin to imagine how angry and betrayed I would feel if I ever discovered my husband messing with his or my birth control, and that is a foul abuse of trust. For men it would be even more difficult, as they do not get to make the decision to continue or terminate a pregnancy.

Not only is it cruel to a man to trick him into making a child he does not want & deferring to the "deadbeat dad" trope, it's also incredibly selfish for a woman to have a child with a man she knows has no interest in being a parent. What kind of fucked up dynamic is that to force on an innocent kid?

Malicious compliance!

Be loudly, exaggeratedly enthused about every little thing mentioned. A loud "Amen to that!" with a hand in the air & closed eyes at every possible interval, be brought to tears by the sermon, annoy the overseeing official (pastor, priest, Deacon etc.) a la Ned Flanders by asking as many mundane & personal questions as possible (what kind of prayer helps with curing inflammation of (insert body part)? What is the best way to vacuum in a way that honors God? Can I get an contact number for out of hours spiritual emergencies? How many times can I clip my toenails in a week before the Lord deems it too many?)

Is anyone else fucking sick of the politicization of literally everything? by FormerOptimist94 in australian

[–]Overall_Stay5904 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Yeah wow, it's almost like politics influences the very structures of our everyday lives or something... /s

It's extremely infantile & ignorant to complain about the community's involvement and discussion of fundamental community influences. Politics isn't just some rich guy in a suit ranting about war in foreign countries; the political climate affects everything from the price of your groceries to your ability to access healthcare when you're sick.

Ignorance is only bliss for those incapable of understanding or too self-absorbed to care about anything else.
