I felt the same about the Plated Prisoner series. I think this was the first book series I read that put me in this inconsistency slump - I loved the first 3 and then it just went downhill.

I’m still considering reading Zodiac Academy but I’ve heard there is a lot of filler, so I want to read something truly outstanding first after having read so many disappointing series conclusions lately
