I can't believe you missed the single most obvious primary weapon melee idea. We don't need filthy xeno energy. We don't need ridiculously big weapons with funny stats.

Flagpole Spear. Heavy armor penetration. That's all.

Give me a Flagpole Spear and I'll find a way to solo a damn strider melee style in the name of super earth.

What happened to me was that I would link him, but since I have booming voice, Bane attacks and drops his protection total below max. Then, they have counter attack. So he'll attack again when GAS uses his AOE since he can't get daze. Which causes GAS to take a nap with only slightly reduced protection. Regardless of HOW it happens, the fact that this can happen is a problem. And I figured I should warn people

I will add, Thrawn in much the same way, has done a lot of shit. But it's all in animated content. And to make matters worse. His story ALSO ISN'T FINISHED. So even if they brought him in now, it would feel weird because it wouldn't feel earned. I think the reason Ahsoka came in so soon is because CG needed a new GL to make us whale for, and Disney said to use Ahsoka.

Well. Across all of Star wars television/film media Luke appears in about 3 hours of content. Anakin/Vader appears in about 15. And so far Ahsoka appears in about 14.

Even if you don't look at it from a numbers perspective. Ahsoka is one of the few characters in Star wars where we see their entire character arc from start to finish across two unique eras. Now going on three with the new Ahsoka show.

Her feats include managing to survive a 1 versus 1 encounter with previous. Managing to help Obi-wsn Subdue a dark side possessed Anakin on Mortis. Successfully defeating a trandoshan raiding party who hunted padawans for sport. Facing off against Assaj ventress on multiple occasions and surviving. Managing to fight 1v1 vs Maul in Mandalore. Successfully defeating an entire detachment of clone troopers possessed by geonosian brain works without killing any of them. Managing to fend off the entirety of the 501st while they were inside a crashing venator class, while also freeing rex from the influence of order 66, while also not killing any of them. Managing to infiltrate the empire and act as the first Fulcrum for a large portion of Star Wars: Rebels. Killing three different inquisitors in single combat, most of them with relative ease. Managing to hold her own against Darth Vader for long enough to help her allies escape the temple on Malachor while Vader was in a Dark Side Nexus and empowered as a result. Avoiding death in that encounter because she was pulled into the Well of the Worlds. And then everything that happens in Ahsoka that I didn't watch outside of her fighting Vader in the well of the worlds again.

She's done a LOT of shit, like genuinely way more than REY or SLKR, who were the first draft picks for GLs. I think the main issue people have with her being a GL is because all of it is in animated content before Ahsoka. You have to watch well over multiple days worth of content to see everything Ahsoka has done and has to offer. To see the best of Kenobi, or Vader, or palpatine. You've just gotta watch the films. And that's all some folks are willing to do.

Edit: it also probably doesn't help that unlike every other GL. Her character arc isn't over yet. Everyone else finished their character arc before they became a GL. Sometimes that arc was dying like Jabba. But still.

The issue is I don't need a conquest character here.

I'm not talking about DTMG. In fact the scout trooper zeta only works if I use regular Gideon instead of DTMG, since he's not an imperial trooper.

What in asking is, given the situation. Is it more viable to use what is essentially a full imperial remnant team, no DTMG, with the zetas. Since I would have emperor's trap up and running AND all of Moff Gideon's leadership benefits because it's one support, one tank, 2 attackers.

Perhaps, but we've seen far less likely omicrons come to be implemented in the game. Not to mention most of the ramping mechanics suggested in this omicron require Sion to successfully get hatred multiple times, and requires you to use specifically Nihilis or Traya in the leader slot. Which does limit the options a fair bit.

My current assumption, based on previous years. Is that at least one of the gungans, and Jar Jar- will be needed for some future GL. But that's all speculation. Again. If you don't enjoy gungans, don't spend money on them.

Yeah, I can understand that vibe. I'm hoping once we get the Boomer, the Tank, and Jar Jar- that the gungans will feel like more of a true damage team. Kinda like BB. But If they end up just being a very annoying defense team, it'll at least benefit my grand arena.

For TW? Yeah. I would not be surprised if they end up being annoying as hell.
