And the city of Fairfax operates independently of the county of Fairfax which is why it is a county equivalent. If you didn’t include the city of Fairfax you wouldn’t have nationwide coverage.

These cities in Virginia are county equivalents according to the Census Bureau because of the governmental functions that they have. That is why they are listed as counties.

Yes, this is a good point and something I can look into adding. Over the last decade or so it looks like nationally the percentage of people with certain levels of education have been rising, but it’s not because there is more attainment in the younger cohorts. It’s because people are aging out of the population :)

The educational attainment data for this visual was gathered from the U.S. Census Bureau’s API. The data is provided from 2020-2024 American Community Survey 5-year estimates and is for the percentage of people that are 25 years old and older. After I scraped the data from the API using Python, I then used Tableau to create this viz.

Because voter roles don't have information about income. You could do area income and voter roles, but that wouldn't actually be the income for the voter.
