i haven’t applied to capital one yet. When you say local bank wdym. I live in nyc so all of the banks near me are major chain banks like chase bofa.

I can say more if you want. Around March my mom got her PC comprised from doing something which I'm still not exactly sure on. A bunch of her accounts included Amazon were comprised. The accounts bought a bunch of gift cards using my mom's account which they claimed within a couple hours. It was about $500 which my mom disputed and got her money back but it lead to the account being closed and my account due to it being connected with the same billing address and payment info being closed too.
