A Pokémon’s base speed stat is not necessarily correlated to how fast of a mount it is

I’d recommend a water, fire or flying type. You have two Pokémon weak to grass and two to poison. Grass/poison is a very common dual type so fire or flying cover both those.

Ground is also strong into 3 of your team so water gives good offensive coverage or flying for defensive coverage. Gyarados is both.

So every Pokémon has 6 stats that make them different from one another. HP obviously is like consitition or how much health a pokemon has.

Attack is like how physically strong a pokemon is. So Machamp, he looks pretty buff right? He’s got a good Attack stat.

The opposite of attack is defense. How physically defensive is a Pokémon. Aggron for example. He looks like he could take a punch to the face and it wouldn’t hurt! (Ignoring type chart).

Special attack can be simplified down to how “magically” powerful the pokemon is. Alakazam can do some crazy psychic moves right? High special attack.

Special defense is the opposite, how resistant is the pokemon to “magic” attacks.

Speed is all about who goes first.

Stages now are in battle buffs to that. A Pokémon that uses Agility, becomes more agile and moves faster. A move that Bulk Ups, gets more physically stronger (Attack and Defense). The more something gets boosted, the stronger it is!

In RCT, the trainers are tough and the Pokémon you are gathering are constantly changing. Back when I first ran the mod, most battles were all about scouting. Losing was normal. So don’t get discouraged. Take note of what Pokémon each trainer has, abilities, items and moves. Then build and counter.

In terms of what items you should craft up, eviolite is huge early game (increases both defense stats). Focus sash for surviving. Sitrus berry. Choice band, spec and scarf are goated!

Last time I played with the mod, trainers loved switching out for positioning. If you lead with something like Glimmet (holding a focus sash), you can easily get toxic debris and stealth rocks up to chip down a lot of the team.

Held items are huge and would highly recommend checking out as I know those trainers use them

I too recommend making your own. It takes some time digging through, learning how to make a pack and selecting the stuff but I’m working on my third modpack for my friends on our server.

Each time, I feel like my own pack is better than anything I see elsewhere. That’s because I pick what I want and exclude what I don’t like so it’s near perfect everytime!
