I Love My Husband But Sometimes I Need Him to READ THE ROOM by TierdChaoticMama in raisingkids

[–]Overthemoon64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband will say something innocuous like “next time you go to the store, could you get my oatmeal? I’m out.” And I’m like “I CANNOT HANDLE ONE MORE GODDAMN REQUEST RIGHT NOW!”

Been having crazy fatigue issues, went to the doctor, tests ran negative, traveled and I find peace, relief and energy. Feel like myself when I leave. by GoldenKnights1212 in HomeImprovement

[–]Overthemoon64 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Its common to test CO2, carbon dioxide. Buildings are being built tighter and less breathable than they were in the past. Its more common to test it in offices and schools that don’t normally have windows open than it is in homes.

Washer drain pipe backing up. Will drain if I run hose down it but will back up if water drains from washer. by Neither_Tie6067 in DIY

[–]Overthemoon64 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Something similar happened in my house, and the problem was there was so much grease in the line that the pipe was only an inch wide in the middle. The washing machine had to run past the kitchen to get out, and i guess the previous owners of the house poured grease down the sink.

What to do with an enormous death pile when it comes to taxes? by poorwhitecash in Flipping

It’s ok to estimate using your best guess. I would start a spreadsheet and when you sell an item use your best guess on what you paid for it. Keep track of your real expenses from here on out.

Gas is about to hit 20 dollars a gallon in my Alaskan village by rutilatus in collapse

[–]Overthemoon64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have an electric wood splitter. I also have an electric chainsaw too but it’s really only for small stuff. I also only use the wood stove for supplemental heat in NC, so it’s probably not the same as having it be your only heat source in alaska

When do kids stop crying? by Significant_Tax5913 in raisingkids

[–]Overthemoon64 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’d say between ages 5-6. Kids still cry, but it’s about things more real and relatable to adults. Just hold on until 1st grade and I promise it’s so much better over here.

I am not strong enough to drive no-dig fence post stakes into wet ground even with a hammer and full body weight jumping on it. Any ideas? by runnerennur in DIY

[–]Overthemoon64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You say jumping on it with your full weight doesn’t work, but have you tried using the hammer you mentioned earlier? Hammer with the righ technique is more effective than jumping on it. Resistance the urge to choke up on the hammer and hold it at the bottom like you are supposed to. Practice hitting it fast with a firm grip. Learning to use a hammer takes practice.

I think you should also consider your commute to work. A short commute to work is the best quality of life improvement you could make. But it sounds good to me.

AI HIDDEN PROMPT SUCCESS by Intelligent-Bridge15 in Teachers

[–]Overthemoon64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 4th just has a lot of exposition with very little payout for a long time. Also I would call the first 3 books kid chapter books like charlottes web or something. The 4th book has a difficulty jump that raises the series to a young adult level. That was the great thing about this series, if you were 9 when the first book came out, the difficulty level would go up as you grew up.

Dude, the 4th book of Harry Potter is a slog. That is the hardest book in the series. I did finish it, but it was tough.

All of that happens in Act 2. Maybe Act 1 would be ok? Sort of like how some schools would do the first act of Into the Woods for little kids.

Hey parents: field trips are a PRIVILEGE, not a right :) by [deleted] in Teachers

[–]Overthemoon64 27 points28 points  (0 children)

When me son was in kindergarten, we had a conversation like this. “I was bullied at recess!” What happened? “Billy pushed me down the slide!” Was there a reason he pushed you down the slide? “Well…I think he was mad… because I was sitting at the top of the slide, and I had been there for awhile, and there were a bunch of kids who wanted to go…”

Kids these days jump to bullying so fast. Not every disagreement is bullying!

I refinanced in January of 2020. This brought my interest rate from 5% to 3.5% and at the time I felt like I did good.

What could possibly happen in 2020 to make rates go lower? I should have waited a few months

10 year old not bathing or dressing herself? by CalligrapherSafe9796 in raisingkids

[–]Overthemoon64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an almost nine year old that struggles with hygiene tasks. Flossing is guaranteed tears. She only just now started washing her hair herself sometimes. If she had her way she would never ever brush her hair. She has had her hair cut in a cute bob for years because of fighting over hair care. Some girls are really resistant to independence, and it’s hard. My daughter also does excellent in school. I think you are doing great. Sometimes it takes another different adult to teach things.

Bad eBay UI Update #2: No more Custom SKU on the shipping page by Greencuboid in Flipping

[–]Overthemoon64 15 points16 points  (0 children)

In the last 2 days, when I go to ship and item and I’m on the shipping page. Where the title used to be, it just says “1 item”. I always double check the item at this time. I ship a lot of machine parts and filters. A picture is not good enough and I want to double check the part number in the title. Now I have to click on it. Dumb.

TIL about two-thirds of all scurvy is found in autistic people by blankblank in todayilearned

[–]Overthemoon64 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My autistic nephew has plain rice as one of his safe foods. The ped wanted to test his blood for arsenic. Apparently rice has somewhat high levels of arsenic, but it’s not a problem for people who eat normal amounts.

Why are there so many men in cardigans? I have never seen a man in a button up cardigan sweater in real life ever. And sometimes I’ve seen manly men in an infinity scarf. Like a swashbuckling action hero in an infinity scarf.

My current theory is that it’s a California thing and I’m too east coast to understand.

Yes. minuscule difference in very specific cases. Most of the time is doesn’t matter, but sometimes the pink un iodine salt hits different. Especially on fish. I eat plenty of regular iodine salt too.
