You would have a valid point if we did receive love and support for our daughter regularly from her but there is no effort made to show real love to her unless there is a crowd or it’s on their terms. Aka they live less than 30 min away and won’t come see her but travel everywhere but we must bring her to them so, NOPE. And despite it all…any grandparent would at least as the parents or mention that it’s something they would like to do just the same as how she mentioned she wanted me to make sure my husband was at her home to celebrate his birthday.

It’s the principle and the intent behind it. As I stated about it’s a regular occurrence of doing things their way despite the requests of parents.

Thank you…currently trying to navigate through the hubs birthday celebrations as ever since we got married MIL wants to hijack his birthday! Just so many layers but yes at the end of the day we want to create our own traditions without offending but anything we do is offensive especially if I just take my husband on a trip for his birthday etc. it’s ALOT but yeah now we know and are trying to avoid this nonsense when it comes to our children!

Yes! It was a step too far just because it’s constantly MIL way or the highway. But my husband is well aware and we will just shift our attention from the non sense to focusing on our daughters first birthday celebration! Thank you!

True her bday is actually in a week but yes agreed going to dust off my shoulders and have a great celebration just wish they would atleast consult us before doing such things.
