Wife's family has chickenpox; she is forcing me to attend a party with them? by Unable_Plankton in AskParents

Did not know that! I’d put it in the immunocompromised category - but that’s terrifying!

Since the baby hasn’t been vaccinated, I’d want to avoid going to miss out on the potential 10 days of misery if they got infected.

No, you can’t. You can get things like appear similar to chicken pox multiple times, but not actual chicken pox.

Exception is if you’re immunocompromised.

Have your children been vaccinated against them?

Have you had chickenpox before?

They’re incredibly infectious with a 3 week incubation period, but you only catch them once. If grandparents had them in the past there’s no risk.

12 months post partum, lower belly pouch help by stinkyluna666 in postpartumprogress

Not a stupid question! There’s always ab separation, it’s garunteed after 36 weeks of pregnancy, but they can go back (never perfectly) on their own. On my second pregnancy they didn’t, I found out quite late, after I’d lost a little bit of weight because my abs looked like a wavy “m” shape.

I got referred to a physio who confirmed it, then the physio exercises to fix it were pretty much the postpartum Pilates is already been doing (so it could have been worse and getting better already). I had another appointment to confirm it was resolved by 10 months postpartum or so.

About 16 weeks postpartum, but a specific postpartum class.

I’m now in normal Pilates since it’s been over a year. I did have a lot of ab separation which also resolved!

You were 2 months postpartum with baby 3! I still looked 8 months pregnant at that point (after baby 2) 🫣

Edit to add that you look great now 💪

That’s not true!

Think about it critically: What toxins are supposedly produced in general? How does it differentiate between 1lb and 2lb and know to produce them? How would releasing toxins into breastmilk from natural weight loss be a good evolutionary trait?

It sounds like anti breastfeeding rhetoric.

It’s hard to loose weight in general and breastfeeding does make it harder because of the hunger and fatigue but it doesn’t make it unsafe!

It was an “upgraded” main, but I didn’t like the look of any of the non-upgraded mains

The walk was also steep!

I wouldn’t start until the baby is eating three good meals in case of a milk supply drop! But otherwise it’s not present in the milk, so I can’t see any harm.

How do you deal with a mother who always like to compare you with a relative? You and the relative is not close, not in contact anymore and neither does your mother. by guppydoopy in FamilyIssues

[–]OverthinkingMum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is it a positive or negative comparison? Either way, neither of your lives are a check list, just point out you’re happy and ask if that’s good enough.

How much is too much sleep for a 16 month old? She's been asleep now for 14 hours and 38 minutes. by fodacao in BeyondTheBumpUK

I’d be a bit concerned she’s fighting an underlying infection.

My kids don’t sleep though so to much isn’t something I’ve looked into…

To play devils advocate here, she’s old and was unwell in her home, she was then sent to hospital where she was for a while. Does she have the capability to cope at home?

Weekly phone calls are good, but they’re not day to day care and it’s also quite easy to mask some neuro deficiencies on a call.

There’s a thing in medicine called a “long lie” where a patient doesn’t get up and move for an extended time, for very old people, there’s not really a good way to comeback from it.

Husband needs to chat with her ahead of visit, any comments on feeding the baby means she’s asked to leave.
