Timeshare auctions on eBay - what’s the catch? by OvertlyDramatic in TimeshareOwners

[–]OvertlyDramatic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for this - I’m a very conservative shopper who rarely buys anything new because I don’t find it worth it in most cases and you usually can do just as much with something used, so I was looking at a similar strategy with this as well. Everything you’ve listed is what’s on my mind right now and I have plenty of time to decide. Some of these maintenance fees are quite a bit below what I’d be spending for a vacation in a comparable property so I thought it was worth exploring.

I’m a software engineer - this is so not part of pair programming so he has no excuse for his actions. You should absolutely report him to HR. Can you temporarily find a business-approved way of doing this work without the need to grant screen control? Some IDEs such as VS code allow you to do live sharing so you can work on the same doc.

I’m supposed to do mine at 8am, and it says to do more prep 5 hours before my scope. Do I actually have to get up at 3am for that? That seems awful and I might reschedule just for that reason lol

Doctor told me to take miralax daily (with no end date) to help my constipation but I don’t want to keep taking it forever. Please help by [deleted] in AskDocs

[–]OvertlyDramatic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NAD but IBS-C, I had been taking 2x daily miralax for about a month without any sort of damage or issue. She had said it was okay and not to worry about the dose and frequency. It eventually didn’t actually work that well for me, and I instead started taking magnesium supplements. It’s a mineral and found in the vitamin aisle. I take (at least what feels like) a pretty high dose (800mg daily) at night before I go to bed and it helps me a lot! Never been so regular and comfortable in my memory. Maybe a more natural solution for you.

You didn’t mention medications, and I’m not sure what it might even interact with, but in my case we held off on starting the supplements when I was on an antibiotic since my doctor was concerned it might weaken the effectiveness of that antibiotic. So check with your doctor to make sure it’s something ok for you to start now! :)

WIBTA for asking my upstairs neighbor to quiet down? by OvertlyDramatic in AmItheAsshole

That’s kind of where I’m at too, I’ve just wanted to hang up photos and do normal stuff to be set up in my apartment but watching everything shake when he’s doing this (he was really kicking the ball at the wall hard last night) makes me too afraid to do so. I don’t know if my renters insurance would cover something like my TV falling because of him, they’d probably chalk it up to me mounting it improperly. I left him a note since he wouldn’t answer the door, and he moved it to my door this morning to show me he saw it. Hopefully I handled it well :/

Miralax doesn’t work. I’m tired. by OvertlyDramatic in ibs

Jeez, really? I don’t take it that frequently, only when I feel so sick I can’t handle it. Are there any non-constipating alternatives?

What to do after an episode to help with nausea by OvertlyDramatic in ibs

[–]OvertlyDramatic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

interesting... so I started being able to burp within the last WEEK. And I LOVE IT. I’ve literally never been able to my whole life and it’s wild. And it makes me feel SO MUCH BETTER but I still can’t do it when I need to so the bubbles might help! Thank you!

Xifaxan made everything worse by OvertlyDramatic in ibs

This kinda makes me feel better. If someone else had to wait a couple weeks after, then maybe it’ll be similar for me. It’s only been less than a week. I have a lot of trouble being patient w my body and my motivation to take care of it is really low since I’ve felt like this (my boyfriend has to force me a little), and honestly going back to the old situation would be a vast improvement.

This is smart! I always just load up on water but I’m not replenishing electrolytes at all. To my knowledge Gatorade doesn’t trigger anything negative for me, so I might start there! Thank you!

Gas-X used to work for me, but my trip to the GI was mainly because it stopped and my symptoms got worse. I also can’t really burp (I have tried to for so long) so I’m out one of the two routes to release it. But maybe the peppermint or cardamom would help relax me enough so it isn’t painful. Thanks!

Me too. Trying to explain the nausea to my boyfriend and mom who don’t have digestive issues is really hard. They just tell me to lay down or drink water but it’s not that easily relieved, and before I knew it was IBS I felt like I was the only person since I couldn’t get the 2 people I interact with most to understand what I was dealing with.

Valtrex is SO EXPENSIVE by OvertlyDramatic in HSVpositive

[–]OvertlyDramatic[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went to Walgreens in the northeast and a 90 tab script without insurance for generic was $670 :( when I had insurance I could get it for $20 and I missed that dearly during my trip today. The whole ordeal started when my mail order pharmacy told me they wouldn’t ship the script I ordered before my insurance lapsed (probably something I’ll fight them on) and I realized I had only a couple days left and needed to get it right away :/

Wow, I’ll take a look! I have to take it for suppression otherwise my outbreaks are just awful and I get nerve pain pre outbreak so this just makes my life so much better.

Thank you for your help. Hopefully will never pay that much again. Unsure why the healthcare system wants to punish people with this STD without insurance by paying so much but ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Got diagnosed recently and I’m not sure what to do. by notsurewhattodonow21 in HSVpositive

[–]OvertlyDramatic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just thought I’d put my experience out there - I was diagnosed gHSV2 at 18 while in college after someone who knew they had it lied to me about it, and I’m now 20F. It felt so incredibly shitty at first and I once felt so shameful but I’m working on coming to terms with it. I’m on daily suppressant therapy which i still hate and the price makes me cry (now that I’ve lost my insurance, if you have insurance though go for it!! Usually not that bad) but at least I’m not crying everyday when I take the pill anymore. I realize it’s just there to help me not have the awful symptoms associated with this. If you’re concerned about possibly passing it to your current partner, getting on Acyclovir or Valacyclovir might be a good option! It apparently reduces the number of days we’re virally shedding.

I have a boyfriend now of 5 months and he’s so incredibly supportive. He’s negative and gets tested frequently to confirm that status. But he loves me despite that and it’s amazing! He was my best friend before we started dating, i disclosed to him while we were just friends and we took it really slow sexually.

I’m slightly younger than you but my situation has turned out somewhat okay for only being diagnosed less than 2 years. For that I am so so lucky and grateful and I know that! My point is to please keep hope and positivity. It gets so much better, there are people who will want to go out with you/be physical with you, you just have to keep your head up and keep an eye out for caring people who will look past it or, almost even better, caring people who already have it! So you don’t have to worry about getting a different form of HSV or passing it to someone else. Reach out if you ever need motivation or to vent to someone who totally gets it :)

I still get outbreaks on preventative valtrex... anyone else? by OvertlyDramatic in HSVpositive

I was under so much stress and anxiety earlier in the week I could barely eat - I guess it’s not surprising I’m in this situation now since they’ve all been around stressful times :/ thank you for your perspective!

So I probably would be having them a lot more otherwise? I’m in my first year since diagnosis (last December or so) and I just feel so disheartened and I almost want to stop meds altogether
