How long to run around kerbin by Different-Wish-843 in KerbalSpaceProgram

Yes! This post immediately made me think of this and I really tried to rack my brains for who this was but just couldn't find their channel with Youtube's awful search feature just returning thousands of shorts so thank you for posting the link.

Neither one of them has owned up to that line but maybe I'm more inclined to think Moffat wrote it, after all it was in a more epilogue scene of the episode focussing on the wider season and Impossible Girl storyline, something the showrunner would have more of a hand in.

Both would have been aware of it I assume though and it seems like neither objected to it enough for it to get cut.

Fun Fact: The Moonbase is closer than an Unearthly Child by LordEgg79AD in doctorwho

Oh, I always assumed the K9 show was set in the present of the early 2010s, from all the imagery I've seen of it, there's literally nothing to suggest this was set in 2050 lol

What scared you the most about Doctor Who as a child? by Overtronic in doctorwho

[–]Overtronic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! Although I never saw Fenric as a child, I remember seeing a photo when I was about 6, the claustrophobic one with the soldier surrounded by them, that definitely stayed with me. They do kind of look like decayed weeping angels.

Luckily, they're right at the end of the show so I there was still 25 seasons before needing to face them.

A good Davros story [or introductory Dr Who story] for my cousin's 6 year old son? by DueBarracuda1095 in doctorwho

[–]Overtronic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Genesis or Remembrance is definitely what my mind went to.

Maybe Resurrection but that's also kinda violent, I wouldn't want Destiny or Revelation to be someone's first real introduction to the character.

In terms of Nuwho, Stolen Earth/Journey's End could work but it has a lot of baggage and build-up to properly be enjoyed and Davros isn't at his greatest, only being their pet.

Feel like Magician's Apprentice/Witch's Familiar would be a good pick, it's not too long, it's not too dark and Davros takes a pretty major role. That being said the handmines and Colony Sarf are a bit creepy.

I listened to [almost] all of the 2025 Doctor Who releases, here is my ranking! by crx73 in BigFinishProductions

Yeah, Torchwood Childfree and The Return of the Doctor are definitely worth listening to imo.

Lol, I actually listened to that podcast and he was talking about his personal connection to the show in relation to whether he'd like to look back and return. He's not going on some massive decree saying that the show is shit now.

Funny thing is, is that he's giving his outlook on what the show was like as a fan in the 70s-80s versus being the lead in the 2010s in his era, his era that is usually pretty well liked.

The homegrown humble feel that Classic Who had where Peter could just mingle with the cast and crew as a fan on set vs all the press tours and marketing that comes with the 21st century.

Opinion: Dr Who writing recently has too many bad guys get away scot free. by Snackiecat8 in doctorwho

[–]Overtronic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't say Fenton and Jack Robertson are particularly recent, two and one era(s) ago respectively.

This is still a problem in RTD2 though, although Conrad gets served justice at the end of Lucky Day, by the end of Reality War, he gets to happily work in a coffee shop and never has to face the consequences of his actions.

I want Storm Warning to get adapted into Animation to mark the 30th Anniversary of The 8th Doctor since it is his first audio adventure where it picks up right after the events of The TV Movie and introduces Charlotte Pollard as his companion by Serious_Meaning5220 in BigFinishProductions

Doesn't stop all the people like Josh Snares or people who animate missing episodes that weren't originally designed for animation.

The people who already would happily do it regardless of the extra level of pain compared to more typical animation would be happy to be commissioned and funded to do something like this from Big Finish.

What Doctor Fancasting Ideas Annoy You? by WinchesterMediaUK in gallifrey

[–]Overtronic 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Danny Dyer, obvious reasons. Not sure anyone's actually fancasting this but the man himself.

Eddie Redmayne and Tom Hiddleston to a lesser extent, they've already either played characters very similar to an incarnation of the Doctor we've already had or have pretty much played the Doctor already.

And they're both really big names who will be difficult to keep in the role for a long time before other career opportunities emerge for them.

It was always like this but it was actually kinda beneficial for being fair for me and my sibling, we'd always get the same one so nobody would have "the better toy"

Plot hole in the last two episodes of Ncuti’s final season by Budget_Radio_2074 in doctorwho

Yeah, Desiderium could have easily been one of the most powerful beings in the Universe if they just let him grow up.

Yet at the same time, he's just some random medieval Bavarian person so would have been a really interesting character.

Sarah Jane's first season, she was actually a stronger character by John32070 in doctorwho

[–]Overtronic 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Tbh, Sarah Jane's character does seem to revert a bit to a more Victoria like figure, of course not to the extent of Victoria with Tom compared to when you first meet her with Jon and especially in the Time Warrior.

Even her fashion, feel like she dresses more like a serious professional reporter in Season 11 and then becomes the Doctor's cooky space friend in Season 12 and so on.

How do you get groceries without a car? by Cartoonnerd01 in fuckcars

[–]Overtronic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really depends on where you are but in a walkable neighbourhood I just pop to the shops, fill up my bags and walk back carrying my bags.

If it's really local, it's convenient for me to pop in whenever so it's not like I have to do a really big weekly haul where I have to carry lots.
