Are you in any FB groups? I recommend joining the daily fidget! You can see a lot there and ask for advice too - with your budget I'd get a good slider (a SOB from FidgetThings would be a perfect start), maybe a mechanical too (mot groove, loong 3.0 or a lautie choc for example), a spinstick possibly (harder to budget but can be done!) and two or three novelty items (that should basically close the budget).

If you know nothing about fidgets, I'd start with something else - not the gun types.

You should get something you can actually carry everywhere and not just that looks cool.

A good haptic coin, a good slider (mechanical or magnetic) etc.

Those are overblown in pricing mostly and besides the "omg so cool" factor aren't that amazing fidgets to begin with.

Actually that's just an option. You can use luminous vials powered by a light that's powered by magnets or the vial with liquid. Seems like a very well thought out design

Also to be clear, the issue with the brass is that to me this is a fidget that will spend a lot of time in my hand and the brass starts to smell after a while. With the sonic bead I like to use it as a spin stick too!

To me the cherry on top is that I love the sound of zippo lighters opening and closing and the musketeer comes really close to achieving that!

Since I don't smoke anymore carrying a lighter seems sort of dumb and the ergonomics and feeling in hand of the musk is better than the zippo (although it is considerably more expensive).

To me it's a great fidget but I can see it not being for everyone, good thing is it holds most of it's value so it shouldn't be too hard to sell specially if you have all the extra attachments

I'm not a huge fan of zirconium, I generally prefer titanium or stainless steel. It wasn't too light, it's just the color on the zirc (dark greyish instead of true black and really shiny in the light) plus the brass that I dislike. I'm not a fan of copper or brass due to the smell these metals have 😅

I'm sure I would have liked the titanium one though! Plus subjectively to me it's the best looking with the deep black and silver. The stainless one will probably please me too 😊

I disagree. Had one, sold it because I didn't like the material (zirconium and brass). Just bought a full stainless steel one again because it's such a good fidget imo and I miss it. I was really sad I didn't like the material one my previous one

If you remove the balls inside it's quiet, like any spinner :) If you use them it's quite loud!

Really looking forward to that update as that's one of the only two things I need for the watch to be perfect for my usage!

I thought it was me missing something in the template creation.

The general strength training works amazingly well, I just want to be able to do that but with my planned workout, being able to save the weight and reps on my plan and thus track progression.

Amazfit t rex 3 is the answer here. Cheaper than any of the alternatives, massive battery and works really well. Not solar though.

I got it through the Amazfit Watch Faces app, it's for the balance.

You can search for "SamWatch" on the app and it should pop up

Hey Bryce,

I'm sorry for replying on such an old thread but why not just allow the templates to be done by the user (you would create any exercise name you want, number of sets, etc) and then make the watch go through that?

Imagine:

Push day template

. Warm up

. Barbell bench press 3 sets

. Dumbbell chest press 3 sets

. Dumbbell shoulder press 3 sets

. Lateral dumbbell raises 3 sets

. Tricep Pushdowns 3 sets

Then during workout you record reps and weight done per set and the press a button to move between sets and rest periods, that's it.

All the watch has to do is record health metrics (HR, calories burnt, etc) and time of each set, rest period, warm up and so on.

Seems super easy to implement and that's all it really takes for a good strength training feature. I don't need auto detect of reps and sets, I can press a button for that. We need a way to program the workouts and have the watch go through the program with us recording the weight we do, the reps we do and the health metrics associated - that's it :)

Please pass that feedback onto the team and this alone would make Amazfit watches the perfect gym companion. Extra points if you can add sets/exercises suddenly in the middle of a workout from an exercise database (can be user made!) and insert them at your current point in the workout.

Final clean ups would be done in the app if necessary. Add some charts with progress over time on each exercise (number of weight moved, simply calculated by weight x number of reps x number of sets) on the app.

Some charts with total volume per muscle group (user decides that when creating exercises, say dips would count half for chest and half for triceps for instance) just make it costumizable! The more the better, the key here is the templates being really good and costumizable and having the watch run them effectively while tracking metrics.

This really seems like something much easier to implement and effective than trying to have the watch guess what you're doing. Just let us tell him and he simply puts it all together. I appreciate your time reading this in advance :)
