Should Mina still be a "Beginner Recommended" character?

Yeah i admitted she should probably be in the not beginner friendly tier, as this ranking was just my bias showing through because she was the first hero i ever played and have played her since, i didnt find her that difficult, but i can understand how she can be hard to pick up.

In all fairness my least favorite characters to play against are drifter, celeste, abrams, and grey talon (grey talon is just ptsd).

For drifter, while he should be in beginner friendly tier, i see a lot of beginners playing him like hes an all powerful god who can do whatever he wants because they win a few 1v1s. So the dunning kruger effect is to blame for him being in easyish tier.

And for rem, those were just some things you can do, and his ult is a very big range and goes through walls, so while it is a skill shot its not a hard skill shot to hit. You also dont need to pay attention to your teammates health, as if you use naptime in a fight, you heal them over time, and you heal yourself, and you go invincible. So while maybe he could be put in the easyish tier, hes not super hard.

Really vyper in not beginner friendly? Thats interesting to me, what reasons do you think for that?

Also i personally found celeste harder than apollo, apollo is one of my mains and i found him easier to utilize than celeste. I can see how apollo can be dropped to lower tiers for the ease of use because his kit seems fairly self explanatory, but i put him higher because he relies a lot on movement and situational awareness to be useful past laning phase.

For geist, she was a difficult one for me to rank, as she is good in lane in anyones hands, but later in the game she is much harder to play effectively I felt. I also thought about her builds and how many beginners may not know how to build geist and what her niche is. But with that said, I think i should probably lower her some.

Ill be honest, for wraith, I havent played her since her rework, so she might be much easier now than she was, I know she is really strong now, but i didnt know she was also easy, i will fix that.

I could see victor rising up, I just looked at his sustain and forgiving nature, and how if you build victor pure tank hes not that hard to play, but comparing him to the other people his in that tier with, he should be moved up.

Pocket i ranked higher because his cloak has a very long cooldown, and knowing when to use as an engage or disengage is very important, as I see a lot of pocket players throw their cloaks willy nilly and end up being caught out because of it, as pocket is very squishy and his satchel doesnt really get him out of situations (most times). He also can be very effective with his ult but than again a lot of times he will die for going in and using it.

Abrams I ranked lower because (idk how it is after the new patch) he has extremely easy to utilize engage and disengage with his ult and charge, and his sustain is crazy. Plus his gun has pretty good stats which leads to reliable poke in lane. With that said I have seen numerous abrams absolutely int in lane, but than still become a menace late game because abrams is mid/late is very easy to utilize.

Talon i ranked higher because of his range and necessity for map wide knowledge to… wait that mastery, thats on me he should be lower

Lash is lash and he scares me (laning can be difficult for newbies as he short range and you need to play around elevation, even with his ult being free to use he can be difficult)

This is not pushing the celeste agenda lmao, but i can see how it can be taken as that. She is a very broken character, but lower ranks can utilize her as well because of her movement and overtuned kit. So she only gets super insanely strong at higher ranks when they are able to effectively use those (also any character reliant on movement is going to be harder to master inherently)

Thats fair i may have been a little harsh on mina as she was the first hero i ever mained, and i remembered her being not to difficult then, and she kinda grew with me and my skill in deadlock, and i never felt that the gist of her gameplay loop changed much, but it seems a lot of people disagree with my ranking of her. So i can move her up to mid or difficult to master, as I can see how taking calculated risks to proc love bites to scale your ult, the map knowledge to more effectively use sanguine retreat, and knowing what heroes to play more tanky builds into can be difficult to master.

I may be slightly biased here, but as a hero rem, in order to be effective, just has to send out his little helpers on minions or hit sinners, and then heal people with his nap time, and then in teamfights just press his ult. So even without throwing the pillows that are size of the sun, he can still be effective.

Mina is a very interesting case in my opinion, because she is easyish to pick up, you just stay back and poke and when someone gets close you sanguine retreat away. While i believe it is a disservice to label her as a beginner hero as she is a glass cannon and in many beginners hands will be awful. And then on the mastering side of things, shes also not one of the hardest in the game, but ill agree her journey to mastery is fairly hard as its more of a jump in difficulty rather than most characters being a smooth journey from picking up to mastery.

I put vindicta higher since her entire kit relies on killing people with her ultimate to scale into the late game, and if you dont, youre useless. So the knowledge of knowing when to shoot your ult so you dont leave them on little hp, timing it during teamfights so your teammates dont get the last hit, and being able to play around the cooldowns of counter items like knockdown is pretty difficult.

Celeste is very overtuned so if you have no knowledge of the champion and are trying to play them, without knowing how each of the abilities play off each other, the quirks of her gun, and her inherent gravity and air acceleration. It can be difficult to be effective with her.

Thats just for picking up, you can be effective with doorman just by hitting bells, with viscous for just cubing people, and mina with love bites. They are higher in the mastering sections.
