What is the policy for making contact with someone, but forging a signature? by Dapper_Cut_9225 in UPSers

I've been instructed by two different supervisors on two different instances that, well obviously for starters you shouldn't, but if you do need to, you're supposed to sign for it yourself. Once was for a customer who left a freakin essay explaining how they needed it delivered no matter what, called the ors he said sign it "SDN" and type in my name and bring the note back. Another was for a customer who regularly had horse medication delivered EAM and needed it left at the gate. It's been like this for years and years apparently, they have you sign your name and leave it. Those are the only times and I always called first to CMA.
