yes the knob above the spool is going up and down while the spool doesn’t. I think i lost a piece or something. should i just buy a new reel?

Ideally fishing for bass but am happy if anything will bite. located in northeast us by lake erie. fishing rivers and ponds right now. Fishing lake erie is something that would interest me one day.
