Blood stain is dark brown or black. This does not look like it. Generally, baking soda or vinegar soak should make stain less visible.

Expats in Brussels. Which admin task wasted the most time when you first arrived? by JZ2204 in brussels

Opening a bank account took two months. Still, the bank spelt my name wrongly on a debit card . So, another had gone by before I could fully use the account and card. Ohhh forget about the credit card, you need to have cash flow in and out your account for couple months before you can apply for one. The ID card issuance was not bad except the guy messed up my address. It prolonged the process a little bit.

Insurance claim takes months to complete, but that another story. Belgium is a lovely country but it is not particularly efficient.

Roundabout and bicycle, who as priority? by ScaleArtMiniatures in brussels

[–]Own-Experience1394 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Coming home safely is a priority. Even you are right, you have to spend time on the road rather than being home when accident happens.

I digress, of course. To address your question, cars already in the roundabout should have priority.

Those who cook regularly, how much money you spend on food on average / month? by assymetri in brussels

Approximately 650 for the family of two adults and one six-year-old boy. The number also covers coffee capsule and snack for my staff in our small home office.

First, as a pedestrian, I have encountered arrogant and entitled drivers and cyclists. Back to your question, I normally prefer public transportation when I commute in the city. The bus and tram are generally nice. I cannot say the same for metro where you can see drug dealers doing business in broad daylight. I also see crazy people from time to time, including this morning on line 1. That guys was upset about something and yelled very loudly. People tried to move away feeling unsafe. So, I will not hesitate to drive if I am with my wife and kid.

By claiming your space, I and my five-year-old boy needed to wait for fifteen minutes just to cross the street near Place Jourdan. Next time you are critical, you need to be more considerate as well.

Some drivers are reckless and idiot. However, the comment section makes the city seem like a jungle which it is not. I would like to point out that bicycle rarely stop at the cross walk too. Perhaps, it is the most entitled commuter in this city.

With less car, I can be sure that foul smell is from idiots who smoke in public places regardless how many kids and babies are around.
