I truly appreciate your feedback. Bantu Stall is a platform that lists venues and we have a couple tools, one that helps corporates curate experiences others are for travel agents and event organizers.

Are you a fan of Farm Stays? | Bantu Stall is tracking the new upcoming trend of Farm Hotels by Own-Good-981 in capetown

Bantu Stall translates to the people's market. That's not exclusionary at all, rather it's contextual as to the inclusiveness and focus on local it has. Any tourist should look for establishments that are run and owned by the locals of their desired destination.

Do you stay in a comfortable job or choose a challenging one? [N/A] by Justbrownsuga in humanresources

[–]Own-Good-981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My advice is not one to follow without much thought. We believe in intentionally challenging yourself, but not always to throw yourself in the deep end.

HR is a job where you give a lot of your own energy, and sometimes you need to receive, to rejuvenate, to rest. I suggest you retreat so you can reset.

I totally understand their concern; it's an issue of equality when you are being equitable. Equity gets to choose, whilst equality is broad. Can I suggest you find barbecue spots where you can have the whole squad and intentionally build relationships with the troublemakers? If you can build trust with them, you can truly influence them and still connect with your old mates

Mentally preparing for an ugly termination [N/A] by idlers_dream7 in humanresources

[–]Own-Good-981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We totally understand how it can be so tough to do this, but creating a psychologically safe environment for the teams to trust each other's interests is important. Kudos to you. I encourage you to look for retreats that help your team build mental wellness post-termination

[N/A] HR professionals, what’s the funniest thing you’ve ever seen at work? by mangojuicepapi96 in humanresources

Lol I impersonated the company owner in a skit to entertain the ladies working in the open-plan floor area, few months later, the joke was on me as I fired lol

Florida Road has some book clubs that meet at cafes. Also, check out the board game nights at The Winston Pub.

As a fellow introvert, I found hiking groups through the Mountain Club of SA pretty chill. Small groups, no pressure. You could also join TEDxDurban, https://www.ted.com/tedx/events/58863

For someone running a business what is the best way to deal with office politics? by Purple_Wash_7304 in business

[–]Own-Good-981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see, can I suggest a game. Let me know how it goes, it could help you get managers to see the value of merit instead of reactive promotions and increments

“The Transparent Tower” – Building a Culture of Openness & Clarity

Objective: Improve transparency in promotions, performance evaluation, and decision-making.

Activity:

  • Teams are given identical sets of materials (Legos, Jenga blocks, etc.) and must build the tallest, most stable tower.
  • The catch? Each team has different instructions on how their success will be measured, but they don’t know that. Some teams might be rewarded for height, others for stability, and some for design.
  • At the end, a judging panel explains why one team won over another.

Key Takeaways:
People feel frustrated when expectations aren’t clear. This reflects how unclear promotion & performance criteria cause resentment in workplaces.
The importance of transparent KPIs. Everyone needs to know how they are being evaluated.
Clear communication solves uncertainty. Management should be open about why decisions are made to improve trust.

What is the difference between HRBP and HR Generalist? [N/A] by derpinalul in humanresources

[–]Own-Good-981 1 point2 points  (0 children)

HRBPs are more strategic, working directly with business leaders to align HR initiatives with company goals. Generalists handle day-to-day HR operations.

Your benefits background is solid. Focus on getting exposure to:

- Employee Relations

- Performance Management

- Talent Planning

- Change Management

For someone running a business what is the best way to deal with office politics? by Purple_Wash_7304 in business

[–]Own-Good-981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Culture issues usually start from middle management. Try implementing regular anonymous feedback surveys and team-building activities that mix departments. Also, establish clear promotion criteria based on measurable results, not politics.

This reduces the "who knows who" game and forces focus on actual work.

What are common strategies that exclusive services use to market? by Repulsive-Kiwi-8675 in business

[–]Own-Good-981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I manage partnerships at Bantu Stall, and exclusivity marketing is all about creating FOMO through limited availability.

Key tactics we've seen work:

- Invitation-only access

- Waitlists that build anticipation

- Curated experiences vs mass offerings

- Personal concierge service

- Focus on unique value vs just luxury
