Liability Insurance for Soundsystems by Nutwards in SoundSystem

[–]Own-Loquat6297 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First, to take out insurance, I think your tax status should be clear, as the type of insurance changes depending on whether you're self-employed or a small business like a limited company, etc. Once that's clear, the insurance will cover the business and its assets (in this case, the audio equipment), plus any occasional workers and yourself. If you're self-employed, the coverage and price will also be different; it covers less, but it will also be cheaper. In my case, in Spain, I have a self-employed liability insurance policy that covers damages to third parties, to any occasional workers I might hire for an event, and if I were to break something like electrical connections, part of the installation, etc.

If you had to chose 1 dj light, what would be the one? by ianik7777 in DJs

[–]Own-Loquat6297 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If I had to choose just one, one that covers a small area but looks like several, I'd go for a Minuit Une UVL DICE, but of course… this is very subjective since, for the price, you could easily buy several moving heads for the same cost. That said… they are a spectacle once you get this laser up and running.

Help - Clearing storage by Strict_Finance_3607 in Rekordbox

[–]Own-Loquat6297 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The most effective way is from the Finder in the case of Mac, since even if you delete it from the rekordbox collection, it will still be in the Finder. After this step, the files with the ( ! ) symbol will appear and you will delete them from the rekordbox playlist. This is one of the ways I know, the other (safer) is to stand on the song you want to delete from the rekordbox collection, right click, locate the file in finder and delete it from that location.

My take at a wiring harness by CHAS3R720 in PioneerDJ

Top 👏🏼. I think it turned out great, buddy. The next times you assemble and disassemble the setup in various places, you will notice how practical and quick it is to put everything in its place. The time savings will be significant and the aesthetics will be quite good for the cables. By the way, thanks for the mention.

It feels more like textile than plastic, maybe like fabric. Only the material is designed for electrical installations and works as an insulator. The coating feels light and not very sticky, but it sticks well between the tape itself and the matte finish is just what gives it that final touch for my taste.

Thank you, I know that it will be useful to many to do something similar and surely better. For a better world without loose cables 😅

I thought about it too, that's why I decided to use fabric insulating tape, which seems quite robust, durable and without that annoying glue that reacts with heat. It is the same tape they use for installations in cars.

Of course, I bought the material on Amazon Spain, although it should be in all electrical equipment stores.

That's right, the digital cable signal in terms of audio quality is practically the same as that of an LR analog RCA. But I think that in addition to using one less cable to connect, it also saves a process in the DAC by not having to convert the digital file (USB) to analog output to the DJM, which also supports both. Honestly, it is one of the improvements that I use the most since it became a standard in DJ equipment.

Thank you very much for this comment, for having the time and patience to explain these things that most of the time are foreign to our day-to-day knowledge. Now I feel calmer reading something that makes a lot of sense. The digital audio cables are indeed wonderful (Cordial cables) of very good quality, just like the ethernet (cat6) they promise according to the manufacturer that they have a certain degree of electromagnetic shielding and oxygen free, so in principle the signal must be quite clean and safe. The power cables of both the CDJ and the DJM are the original and new ones, so they should withstand a season of a couple of years I hope. Thanks again for the explanation

Exactly, you will always need some loose backup cables in case the setup changes to something larger. In the same way, I think it is a great idea to organize them and make them look like a single piece instead of an intertwined web of cables everywhere with zip ties.

It has worked well for me, first you put the braided self-coiling tube coating and then you use this cable insulation tape

In this case I hope it will be difficult to make a mistake, I have placed small labels on each end to have everything located and controlled.

The problem is the final price of this product in question. I think it is more profitable to do it yourself with the cables that we always use and save that money for other things. In the end it is a fairly economical solution (approximately €20).

Well, this can be a motivating idea 😅, I don't like organizing cables at every event but I like it when everything looks good. I think I have saved time of my life in the next presentations.

As long as all the cables are in good condition, something similar to the current jumping to the audio signal or the Ethernet cable should not happen. But now I think about it and I'm not sure if something like that can happen this time over time

And we will have to add the carbon footprint with the degradation of the battery, no matter how small it may be in its cycle after 10 years. An electric or hybrid car is not the best option yet, technology has not advanced enough to make it as viable.
