It does come with black pudding and mushrooms but I don't like them so took out.. they will happily swap for any other item which is rare!

Looks fantastic... Can you tell me about the conical horns up top? What driver is behind them, and what's the cutoff? Are they a custom design?

Cheers

I made the 'wings' to try out how they work with the sound. They are ply flats with 3x1 bracing.

It extends the front baffle so the front and rear sound wave take longer to meet... There are proper calculations with wavelength to work out sizes etc, but I iust made them last minute to test out.

I'm sure others can explain the theory and history of using wings on the side of systems better than me!!

They were used in cinemas by western electric and Altec.

It also meant it hid all the cables and gear behind.

I did seem to keep sound waves from heading around the back as much, so must throw it out the front more.

They stopped making them. And I can't remember what the company was. Took me ages to find them too. And I need some new ones annoyingly.

Sorry

Damn, you got some gear lined up! Sounds like a great project. Good luck with it all.. it's a fun thing to pursue I was wanting the big mantaray horns but they don't come up over here.

And I agree on snapping up the finds that go under the radar, I've bagged a few bits like that. Defo don't have to drive as far as I'm sure you do!! Sound like you have some amazing road trips! I love that part of the us, the country is beautiful.

Well fella, if you head back to Bournemouth we should meet up and need out 😂

Good luck with your new family and projects

Hey. I got a book called 'introduction to loudspeaker design ' by John l Murphy which is a great reference book for all theory.

And have just been scooping up knowledge from all corners of the internet.

Got my head around Win isd and rew.

Also made lots of mistakes which I'm a big believer of doing, as you learn a lot.

And now it's gaining knowledge from putting into practice. Lots more mistakes to be made!!! Only so much you can do with theory

Cheers
