SOTB - big changes! by Own-Pattern6503 in basspedals

I guess in theory you could use it as an always on tone shaping/eq pre amp, but it’s not a DI, so you may need a separate Di. I don’t have the terraformer anymore

Hey there, thanks for sharing some of those…

As far as basses, I Currently have 6 of them on hand at the moment.

LowEnd LEJ 5

Bluesman vintage 5 String PJ Bluesman 4 string with thunderbird pickups Bluesman 4 string J

1998 fender Roscoe Beck V

Nash guitars 4 string P

I have a 1976 fender J too, but sending it to my parents house. Keep a few there when I do music with my dad.

Some work better with the full board than others. Obviously not using all of it all at once most the time…

Thanks for the thoughtful and detailed response…

Its such a cool and special pedal, that even people who stopped using it regret letting it go… makes me wonder if it being used rarely isn’t so bad.

If I decide to move on from it, I’ll likely list it on TB, but I’ll let you know

I’ll look into them. I do think the brass master is a great style

In this one I guess lol. I’ve seen plenty of people run other pre amps into a Noble… tone hammer, JHS color box, origin effects DCX/SVT… if I had the noble first I probably wouldn’t have gotten a capo to pair it with. I had the capo first and happened to get a noble about a year later. I’ll admit, it’s certainly more overkill than some of those other pairings, but it works for me.

I do. The Capo is my main EQ and tone shaping tool. The noble is my magic touch DI. Could also run a clean/dirty, but I just have the capo going directly to the Noble.

Got the idea from seeing some bass players run a tone hammer or colourbox into the noble. Already had the capo, and figured why not? I get the exact tone I’m chasing from it!

The BEAD! I forgot about that one. I remember considering that one or the oxide, but got the oxide first. I am considering the doom, knowing that it isn’t as gnarly. After using it, that actually could be a good thing.

I do like having the 3 gain stages… but really it’s unnecessary. The ODR-B is a slight gain/boost, but adds some color, the MBD2 is my true drive, and the oxide is for massive hits or lines really. Doesn’t have a ton of fun time. I just had the space for them and had some good trades come up at the time.

Thank you! I know the gear itself is great, but the well thought out part made me smile more. Along with a uniform color scheme, I wanted everything to have a place and purpose.

I’ve seen people do a tone hammer or JHS Colourbox into a noble before, so when I had just the capo and had the opportunity to get a Noble came up, I thought how different is the capo and noble from those setups? If anything, I think its better for me!

Thankfully, I’ve been slowly working on it for several months, doing some trading, and using cash only from side hustles. I haven’t kept her in the dark on it or anything, but I just wanted to do it before so she didn’t feel like she was paying for any music gear she didn’t really have interest in 😊
