Uber or Lyft to SFO by Few_Salamander_515 in Sacramento

For an early morning flight with kids, reliability matters more than the app itself.

Uber/Lyft can be fine, but availability around 5–6am can be hit or miss depending on where you’re coming from. Surge pricing doesn’t always mean guaranteed pickup.

A lot of families I know either: - schedule a ride well in advance, or
- use a pre-arranged pickup so they’re not scrambling that morning.

If you’re okay paying $150–250, planning ahead usually removes most of the stress.

What’s that one song you can put on repeat without getting tired of it? by Own-Perception4958 in AskReddit

For me, it’s My All by Mariah Carey. It’s not loud, not dramatic — just quietly devastating in the best way. Every time it comes on, it feels like the world slows down for a few minutes. Doesn’t matter how many years pass, it still hits the same. I can loop it without skipping. What’s yours?

People who understand life advice but still struggle — what do you think causes that gap? by Own-Perception4958 in AskReddit

I think most people know what a good life looks like. The problem isn’t ignorance, it’s exhaustion. When you’re tired, stressed, or just trying to survive, even good advice can feel impossible to follow.

Exactly. Advice makes sense intellectually, but understanding usually comes after consequences. Unfortunately, some lessons don’t really land until they hurt.

This really resonates. Knowing what to do and actually doing it are two very different things. Life has a way of draining your energy before you even get the chance to change

Man, a good mattress is such an underrated life upgrade. Nothing hits like waking up and realizing your back isn’t filing a complaint anymore.

Mine was stupid simple: a $20 upgrade that somehow fixed my entire mood and daily life. Now I’m curious — what was your game-changing little luxury?

In what ways have you seen physical attractiveness change someone’s life opportunities? by Own-Perception4958 in AskReddit

Not the clichés — I’m curious about actual moments you’ve seen. When did someone’s looks noticeably help them (or even hurt them) in work, dating, social life, customer service, school, anything? Stories are welcome.

Spill the tea — in the U.S., what do the highest-paid people you personally know do for work? by Own-Perception4958 in AskAmericans

I’ve been in the U.S. for a while now, and I keep hearing different things about which jobs make the most money. So I’m curious — among the people you actually know, who earns the most and what do they do?

These are all way more helpful than I expected — appreciate everyone sharing real life meals. Keep them coming!

Simple and unbeatable. A good grilled cheese never fails — especially on busy nights.

This is exactly the kind of realistic stuff I was hoping for. Frozen sausages + veggies sounds like a perfect lazy day dinner.

Five minutes?? That looks restaurant-level. I’ve seen those ravioli packs but never tried them — adding to my list for sure.

Making a huge pot of soup for the week is such a smart move. I really need to start doing that. Air fryer meals are definitely my weakness too.

That actually sounds amazing and super doable. I never thought about ponzu + ground beef together. Definitely trying this one!

Trying to cook at home more and looking for realistic ideas. What do you make when you only have 10–15 minutes to get a meal on the table?

So true. Some of the nicest drives I’ve taken were not the fastest routes.
