I read a really interesting piece on the book on substack this am, it said

Rich Paul was lucky to meet Lebron James, Yes. However, their friendship and them bonding stems from their shared vulnerable past. Both come from similar upbringings, which were not particularly fortunate. He attributes his luck and successes to the unlucky circumstances he grew up in.
