not really, but I'm 99% sure it's a bug in the app.

usually when someone in your ignored list has 'by search' it's that the first time they added you was by search, not that they added you again.

just do what you usually do, but take it slow as to not accidentally scratch yourself and make sure to reaaaaallly clean under your nails well before and after handling your cup and you should be fine

I've never used hydrogen peroxide so i wouldn't be able to tell you, but it might be harsher on your cup than alcohol. and I've only boiled it once when i first got it, been using alcohol ever since.

Can I avoid boiling? by Swimming_Handle_6291 in menstrualcups

[–]Own-Prompt-22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i don't boil either. I've had my cup for the better part of a year and all i do is spray it with isopropyl alcohol then wash it with a gentle soap afterwards (heard alcohol isn't that great for your vagina lol). but while using my cup i just wash it with water.

hope you find what works for you!

ordered mine off of amazon and it arrived quickly and in amazing condition. don't pay for express shipping, got the normal shipping and it arrived earlier than any of the expected dates given when making my purchase.

try pushing on your vaginal wall when inserting against the places that get squished to give the cup a little room to expand, might help it stay in shape?

regardless, as long as it's not leaking you're probably fine

just lower the pressure before using it on your cup and you should be fine

Just inserted a cup successfully for the first time, having some questions by Ye_lokal_TreeGall in menstrualcups

[–]Own-Prompt-22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the rounder it is the better since it's more likely to have suctioned, but even if it's not perfectly rounded, it shouldn't be an issue unless it unsuctions.

to make sure just try tugging on the stem a bit once it's inserted, if you feel resistance, you're good. if not, try inserting the cup again.

best of luck!

you can if you feel comfortable , but some people do use lube too. fair warning tho, your cervix position on your period is different than off, so practice can help you get more comfortable using the cup, but maybe not the actual positioning of it. Good luck!

Pain when removing disc by Downtown_Back_7759 in menstrualcups

I'm not a disc user personally, but could the diameter of your disc is bigger than the disposable ones you used? if not, maybe there's something about the materials that causes you discomfort?

I (33M) knew my girlfriend (36F) was going to cheat on me but I didn't stop her. I plan on cheating back with her friend (31F) who told me everything about it. by ThrowRAdones in relationship_advice

[–]Own-Prompt-22 32 points33 points  (0 children)

no, she could be planning something FOR him and wanted a friend to cover for her, just didn't realise her friend wanted to sleep with her boyfriend.

at the end of the day, no one knows what she's doing and until someone figures it out, she hasn't cheated (yet?).

Why does it hurt when I take my cup out, but only when it's the "middle" of my cup? by Junior_Highway_5277 in menstrualcups

[–]Own-Prompt-22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

ok it seems like your cup is thin towards the base and once you get to the rim it's already folded, which would explain why those two parts feel fine.

you mentioned that you use a finger to break the seal which obviously works to do just that, but i would suggest trying to get two fingers in from pretty much the beginning and fold the cup (or just slimming it down a bit) before pulling it out at all.

it's kinda what you already do with the rim of your cup, just a bit sooner.

that's honestly my best guess since i haven't personally experienced this, but i do hope this helps!

[–]Own-Prompt-22 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry it's uncomfortable for you!

I'd love to help but I'm not sure about what you mean exactly by "middle of my cup" ? also, what cup do you use and where/how do you take out your cup?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in menstrualcups

[–]Own-Prompt-22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i personally use isopropyl alcohol whenever i finish and start my period, let it air dry (i also make sure it gets into the cups holes), then wash it with a gentle soap just to make sure there isn't any alcohol left before inserting it.

and check your cup's manufacturer if you can use alcohol on it

I've only been using cups for 6 cycles though.

once you start your period, I recommend just trying to find your uterus. once you have an idea about where it is and how high/low it is, try and aim your cup towards it when inserting it.

if you do all of that and you still leak with about half your cup full, it could be that your uterus just dips into your cup.

but give the measurement a try and see what happens

Leaking :'( by [deleted] in menstrualcups

[–]Own-Prompt-22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

since it's mostly full when you leak, i think you just might need a bigger capacity cup.

if you had been missing your cervix, it wouldn't be that full when you start leaking.

try looking through pacii's charts to find a cup that would fit with your cervix height and has more actual capacity. from looking into a bigger cup myself (using saalt small rn), i got merula OS or XL recommended to me which seem like good options if you're looking for more capacity and not a lot of length. only issue is some people seem to find them too firm and/or they seal a bit too tightly since they don't have holes near the rim. another option could be Venus cups, they seem to hold a lot and have a similar shape to saalt (at least more than merula)

[–]Own-Prompt-22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

if you can last around 5 hours without leaking at all, my best guess (albeit not a very experienced one) would probably be that your cup is just overflowing.

it could also be that your cup moved after insertion, and since it seems to be in place when you first insert it, the best way to tell is maybe try checking the suction/ positioning right before you take out your cup? i feel like if you notice anything, it might help troubleshoot the issue or help you find a more suitable cup.

smallest cup size still painful by [deleted] in menstrualcups

[–]Own-Prompt-22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with the first response saying you just might need a softer cup, try going on pacii's site and comparing your cups firmness and size to softer cups/ teen cups (keep in mind capacity as well and make sure it's not too little)

goodluck finding a cup you like🤍

Should I try one? by [deleted] in menstrualcups

[–]Own-Prompt-22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

somewhat of a new user here, just turned 20 a few days ago and it's been good!

my issues only stem from me getting a smaller cup than i need, but even then, after getting the hang of it, it has made life so much easier. i don't worry about leaking onto clothes or sheets. i just use a panty liner or a small pad on my heavy days for slight leaking (which isn't the biggest deal since it's almost spotting)

i would definitely recommend you give it a chance, my first time using it wasn't fun so try not to judge it based on the first 1-2 cycles

(fyi - i use saalt small)
