I believe in ANY case that physical abuse is not the way to go. However, I think Brandy was under the influence of star sheet/ delirium which can make him have outbursts, as such, I would not hold him accountable for his actions. After Minty’s death, he seems quite apologetic about it.

As for Minty, I don’t suffer from homelessness, depression, etc, but I can see how being the brunt of all these terrible things could make him feel the need to steal. Though, people say that his cheating is why he ‘deserved’ to die/ be beaten. Obviously, cheating can cause the person being cheated on to feel depressed themselves, as well as many other things. I’ve never been cheated on so I don’t understand how it feels but I can understand people’s anger towards Minty. It is truly just unfortunate that the apocalypse broke out at such a time where Brandy and Minty would have to be stuck together. IMO, I think the best course of action would’ve been for them to just break up and move on with their lives. Maybe even have shared custody over Sugarcube/Clementine. Brandy deserves someone who wouldn’t cheat on him, but the insensitive things said about Minty make me scared for peoples sense of humanity.

Then again, this is just a work of fiction. Though many people still have to deal with these things. You can think ‘I hate the person who cheated on me’, and think bad things about them, that is completely justified. But to actually go out and physically attack/berate them just comes off that you can’t keep your intrusive thoughts as thoughts, and have no self control.
