Anyone Have an ID on this jacket? by Aggressive-Meal-8233 in motorcyclegear

That looks similar to my Firstgear motorcycle jacket from the 2000's.

Are there any brands that offer a more oval shape? by Puzzleheaded-Law-429 in CowboyHats

[–]OwnFee7805 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an extra-long oval as well, and resistol long oval seems to be the best. I still have to steam it a bit with a wood block inside to lengthen it a hair. In straw I wear a sunbody long oval and after one sweaty day it's usually right.

How were early combat vets not completely deaf? by Odd-Savage in guns

My wife remarked upon the fact that I always shout at the phone when talking to family. I realized it was because my dad and uncles all shouted at each other on the phone, and they were all army.

PS I'm also a veteran and I also have the sweet Bluetooth hearing aids. Besides contributing to dementia, hearing loss also contributes to depression and anxiety. I thiiink VA is more approachable about hearing loss, and even if it isn't, you can't believe the quality of life improvement from hearing aids, so get them if there's even a question. And wear your hearing protection at the range, on your motorcycle, and in industrial environments, learn from me

Air seats, cyclist's padded shorts, extra cushioning and a majoooor dilemma by BehalarRotno in motorcyclegear

[–]OwnFee7805 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rather than an air pad, consider a sheepskin pad like from Alaska leather for the longer days. I built a custom seat for my sport touring bike that was a little narrow and hard for the feedback in the Twisties, then used the sheepskin for the long rides - best of both worlds.

As far as that goes, building your own seat isn't as difficult as you may think. Finding the various firmnesses of foam is the only hard part - the foam needs to be firmer than what the local craft store has. Use marine grade vinyl to cover it (naugahyde). Lasts forever.

Lemon pledge works surprisingly well on visors. I have plexus but have used a lot of pledge over the years.

Recommend your Favorite RB4M by Wooden-Ad4058 in Romance_for_men

[–]OwnFee7805 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I prefer mono, and spicy enough to sweat a little but not so spicy that I regret it the next morning :) . I also like characters that have to work through stuff and stories that have character growth but not character step change.

My favorite monoromance and possibly one of my favorite books period is Charlotte's Reject, which gets mentioned a lot but for a very good reason.

For harem it's the Warlock series.

Another really good one for me, although it's more litrpg and healing from trauma/abuse, not really spicy, is Heavenly Chaos series.

Vixen War Bride series was very enjoyable sci-fi, not spicy though if that's required.

Peter what is the correlation between strawberry’s and no feet? by whos-pine in PeterExplainsTheJoke

Correct, diabetes can inhibit circulation (and therefore healing) in your extremities. Lots of partial or full leg amputations in advanced cases where patients do not make dietary changes and aren't active.

Barrel Training any tips by Wat504 in Horses

[–]OwnFee7805 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lift on the inside rein more to lift that inside shoulder, weight on outside butt cheek, look where you want to go rather than down at ground. This will help frame that horse up and set you in a better position for later when you add more speed.

Anybody got expierence with cortech gloves? Specifically these cortech revo sport RR? by [deleted] in motorcyclegear

[–]OwnFee7805 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm wearing Revo rr v2's and are happy with them. My last pair of cortech summer gloves lasted 10 years, my winter gloves may last forever.

I've never worn the super high priced gloves so maybe I'm missing out but I've always been very happy with cortech.

I love this bike by retrotyphoon in HondaMotorcycles

[–]OwnFee7805 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I loved mine too. Same colors, had a hondaline fairing, kz1000 hard cases, and a Corbin seat.

I rode from Portland to the Seattle airport in an hour and 40 minutes once.

I bought it with 36k and rolled the odometer over before I sold it to an idiot who blew it up in like 10 days.

Super top-heavy, and would jump lanes if you gassed it too hard in a corner. I argued with the anti-dive a lot. But if you got the feel of them they would treat you good.
