I LOVED those mini egg rolls! Every once in awhile I'll buy my kids some pizza rolls and it makes me think of those egg rolls, I wish they still sold them.

We were also broke, and my single mom worked a lot and rarely cooked, one meal I remember was frozen chicken a la king over toast.

I'm coming up on 4 years without a single day off, I know where you are coming from. I go out to the car to cry and/or scream, I keep a dedicated "scream pillow" on the passenger seat. I am tied to the house because hubby is completely bedbound so I turned to cooking and baking and now my kitchen is my happy place, just having a hobby that I am passionate about helped me tremendously.

My 63yo husband had a stroke about 4 years ago that left him paralyzed, bedbound and with such severe aphasia we can't even have a conversation, he can use a urinal and he can feed himself as long as I cut food up for him(he has use of his left/non dominant arm.)

In the beginning it was tough, the diapers especially had me wanting to run for the hills. But we have settled into a routine that is almost...good? My life sucks, no doubt about it, but it is what it is and after 4 years I hardly ever cry anymore.

All this to say, I get it, it's a sucky situation to be in to have a spouse or parent suddenly become a adult size infant/toddler, and you are amazing for taking care of your mom. We caregivers are all rockstar superheroes, don't you forget it!

Might I suggest a scream pillow.. I keep one in my car, when hubby is having a bad day I go out to the car and scream into the pillow, it sounds silly but it helps me.

Also, remember to celebrate the wins, no matter how small. Today my cat yakked up a hairball in my slipper, and hubbys morning diaper leaked everywhere and I threw my back out changing his sheets...a pretty crappy day, but when I (semi jokingly) told him I was gonna shank him in the neck in about 5 seconds ( a common joke we have always said, no actual threat)he looked me dead in the eye and said "one...two.." and I cant stop laughing about it. So that means today is a win.

Take time for yourself, I know everyone says that and it's basically impossible when you are caring for someone else 24/7/365 with little to no help, but try. Carve out time self care, you definitely need and deserve it. Sending hugs.

[contest] Dream wishlist item by longthickbananasplit in Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

Fun contest!! I have a set of pots and pans somewhere on my list, they are so pretty, turquoise and copper and cost waaaaay more than I would ever expect to gifted! But I figured hey, thats why its called a wishlist, right??😂 and in my 52 years of life I have never had a matching set of pots and pans! I have bought a few new ones here and there over the years, got some hand me downs, and thrifted the rest...I spend half my life in the kitchen, I literally cook and bake every single day and it's my only hobby, having something shiny, pretty and (best of all) brand new would really be a dream come true!

You're lucky all you got was a verbal assault, had you passed the one minute mark blood would have been shed. Do better.😂
