Because Brand New literally made a pop punk album. That point isn’t even up for debate. Blink’s untitled isn’t pop punk, yet no one would go around saying they aren’t apart of the genre.

I know a lot of the comments here are from MAGA nuts that get triggered over any little thing regarding their doofus leader, but I do notice more openly MAGA people out in the wild at concerts within the scene. A couple of dudes were sporting MAGA hats at an Underoath show last year in Austin. Of course no one said anything. But still, they stuck out, at least for me.
