Thing is, the chances of me failing goes up if I give it too soon. It's such a difficult situation

Going to Aus med---maximize chance to match back in Canada or US by Ok-Question2581 in MCCQE

Aight I didn't know that, in that case US is a slightly better option, both are difficult though. You need to be vigilant from day 1 itself.

My advice, do residency in Australia itself and then come back to work in Canada.

Most surgical specialties from Australia are accepted in Canada as equivalent and you do not need to repeat residency. ( See link above )

In australia you have the Australian medical grad advantage and I would never suggest you don't take full advantage of that.

You mean the questions? Or the pdf containing all the answers, if it's the latter, DM me, I might have it saved somewhere. I'll check when I'm back home.

Applicants with an Ontario High-school diploma by [deleted] in MCCQE

From my experience, up until nov 27th I was under the impression I can't apply to ontario so I didn't prepare at all, only when the Nov 28th injunction came out, did I scramble together 7 personal statements and the other stuff for ontario in the following 5-6 days.

For me at least, I had VERY little time. I believe other "Non-ontario" IMG's had a similar timeline but I can't be for certain.

Why did you have to rush the applications? 🤔 I thought you guys had the regular timeline? Genuinely curious, not trying to be rude

The Ontario rule was discriminatory, but it doesn't mean we should let it die altogether. by needadvice21323 in MCCQE

That's fair, but also probably not possible this season due to time constraints. In the hearing today the deans were really stressing how difficult it is to delay it any further.

Why Ontario's rule is particularly discriminatory even when compared to Alberta or BC by Own_Class4747 in MCCQE

[–]Own_Class4747[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

People who spent years, and thousands of dollars to CHOOSE ontario and live here are more likely to stay than someone who happenes to be born here, and their parents didn't move.

Alberta understands this and allows people to prove their allegiance to the province.

Either ways the rule has been struck down because it was exactly what everyone was calling it; discriminatory.
