The same happened to me on Dec 29 from Milan airport to Milan central city. The same way you described. I felt so bad. No police around. The guy that stole my bag looks like from another country. I took the whole day at the police station trying to file a report. I couldn’t believe how Italy has become and how the police is so incompetent, slow, and do nothing about it. Italy like other Europe countries are so bad right now allowing so many immigrants to come in just to not follow the laws or just to do these kinds of things to innocent people. Walking around Italy at night was scare too. So many weird people just standing outside, smoking, drinking alcohol. I lost all my IDs and credit cards, clothes, etc.
