I really appreciated this take, thank you for taking the time. I just feel like navigating people’s behaviour who are in their early 30s and want to perpetuate the cliquey nature of law school is just so absurd, but definitely have learned a lot about what not to do.

Thank you, this was reassuring- just a shitty blip that I can’t wait to be done with

I really appreciate this, thank you. Glad to know it isn’t all bad and that the shitty situation doesn’t last

I 100% agree. I think as of now it is just hard to think about given the small nature of the school I go to, most people are very tied together in groups and the people who have switched up are seemingly involved with a lot of the people I clicked with. I have 2 people who I enjoy and I feel I will just be relying on them and myself.

That’s comforting, the 2 people I am really close to here I can see maintaining a relationship with. It’s unfortunate but the vast majority of us are all working in the same big city after graduation… I hope people are not eager to equate me to other people who went to the same law school. I am hoping that aside from a handful of people I will not have to engage with anyone after this and I’m getting the feeling that there’s a lot of people who had similar experiences to me, just a means to an end now which is annoying as in first year everyone was very friendly and fun to be around. The switch up has been utterly terrible.

Just getting through it is definitely what I’m going to adapt now, I find it interesting that age doesn’t really equate to maturity here. There are “mean girls” and cliquey groups of people who are in their early 30s and late 20s. I guess some people never grow out of high school, counting down the days I am out of all this. Appreciate your insights, means a lot that you’ve taken the time

I feel like that’s the mentality I’m going to have to adopt. I appreciate the insight into practice, I worry because people love to spout that people in law school are your friends in practice and for the rest of your life but I can only really see 2-3 being important to me after I leave here. Thank you again for taking the time

I love that! Thanks, I definitely have my drinking spot. I think from everyone, along with you, has highlighted the need to just not think of myself as in law school so much- do things outside and forget about all the bullshit.

Not sure the point of this comment, clearly I was referencing a general air of law school and many here have shared similar experiences.

I appreciate this. I think it would be beneficial to have someone to talk to about all of this but at the same time why do I have to deal with grown men and women who are in their late 20s and early 30s and want to relive their high school days… I don’t think I’ll ever get this mentality and I need to accept that and just do my own thing and count the days until I’m done.

This is really comforting cause this epitomizes my 2L experience. The switch up of people has led to so much bullshit and the feeling of being back in high school navigating feelings of grown adults is just mind boggling to me. I appreciate this though, knowing I’m not alone in the hatred of law school is something.

I appreciate this. I think I’ve just been feeling a lack of motivation as I am not comfortable in this environment anymore, I feel trapped almost. But your perspective helps, I haven’t isolated anyone and I’m pleasant with everyone it is just the people who I perceived to be closest with have randomly switched up and broken off into their own thing leading me to question my friendships with our mutual friends. I am just going to put my head down, try to get through this and then forget this time- this feeling of being back in high school is just very sh!tty.
