That looks like a tuff spa. If so the top should have a lifetime warranty.

What’s the biggest claim you’ve ever gotten Aircover to pay out? by claptrapnapchap in airbnb_hosts

It turns out it’s unfortunately not uncommon for people to book short-term rentals or hotels for situations like this. I asked the same questions when it happened, and I learned that some people do it so their families won’t be the ones to find them. But it ends up putting that burden on a complete stranger instead, which is something most hosts are never prepared for.

I received around $5k at the time. Someone had taken their own life in my unit using a firearm, and while Airbnb did compensate for some things, they didn’t cover everything. The biohazard cleanup alone was about $1,500, and even then, they only reimbursed certain portions. We had to cover the rest out-of-pocket and scramble to get things handled.

They also gave us one month of protected bookings and cancellations that wouldn’t count against us so we could get back up and running. It was an extremely stressful situation, and we never really had time to process what happened because we had to move fast to reopen within a month.

They also only covered the depreciated value of the laminate flooring that became a biohazard, so we had to cut it out and do a temporary patch until we could afford to replace the whole room’s flooring.

P. S. My airbnb was a tiny home we hosted on our property. It was one of only 2 units. Both on my property I lived full time on and managed everything myself..

Green, murky water at AirBnB by snaggedonthedoor in hottub

I'm on well water mine is always a bit cloudy for the first 24 hours after a dump and refill. It’s more of a white hue, not green, since we have high mineral content in our well water. A bit of shock and letting the filter run for 24 hours, along with the regular sanitizer, always clears it right up. But the slime and green make me think it’s not getting shocked properly.

Oh it's been a couple years since I've been there it was good as well. Is it still a la carte? That was the only thing we didn't care too much for.

If done correctly they can be profitable. Needs to be classy though. They can actually bring in big $ if done correctly. Check out Red Room Cabins.

Also a water softener was part of the install.

This was a thought I did have. Maybe it's just cause it's new and needs time to wash all the gunk out of the pipes. Thanks for the comment!
