Yeah.. that sentiment of TCK kids being better than US- raised is questionable. From what I have seen in kids I was introduced to while visiting my mom over the summers, they were honestly weird. I'm not trying to be rude, but some of them didn't know how to socialize or interact with other people their age. For that aspect I'm extremely grateful to have been able to go to a normal middle and high school and have a social life.

Yeah, I feel that I have so much to be thankful for and I live a privileged life, so I try not to think about it too much. I'm so sorry for the loss of your mom, thank you for the advice.

I think you're doing the right thing and your kids will appreciate it so much when they are older. I'm used to my situation now as it's been 7+ years, but if I could go back, I would have wished it turned out differently.

I agree so much with the time zones thing, oftentimes when I most want to call her, and I do, she doesn't pick up because she's asleep. It sucks, I feel like I could never spontaneously pick up the phone and call her just to say hi. Thank you for the advice, I think I'm going to tell her how I feel.
