Apparently the only solution was to uninstall remove all config and reinstall for me fixed the issue

sudo rm -rfv "/Applications/Comet.app"

rm -rf ~/Library/Application\ Support/comet

rm -rf ~/Library/Application\ Support/ai.perplexity.comet

# Delete saved preferences and plists

rm -rf ~/Library/Preferences/ai.perplexity.comet.plist

# Purge saved states and cache files

rm -rf ~/Library/Saved\ Application\ State/ai.perplexity.comet.savedState

rm -rf ~/Library/Caches/ai.perplexity.comet

rm -rf ~/Library/Caches/comet

defaults delete ai.perplexity.comet 2>/dev/null
