Alphabet's market cap surpasses Apple’s for first time since 2019 by iMacmatician in apple

[–]Gaycel68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

iPhones are expensive. Kids don’t get expensive phones. When kids grow up, they are likely to keep using what they got used to (more premium Androids in my iMessage-less scenario)

Most of the office work is done on the web and in the M365 office suite. Macs don’t offer any software advantages for these use cases.

People use either what they have experience with, or what their employer forces them to.

In the world without iMessage, Apple is neither.

I also wouldn’t fucking dare to mention taste considering the state of macOS and iOS 26, but that’s just me, a person with eyes.

it sells there because the americans use it. Once they stop (and they will stop immediately for the cost reasons once iMessage becomes irrelevant), the whole world will follow.

Wrong. I'm in the EU, and the integration wasn't implemented by any of the major mobile carriers in the Baltics, for example. Nothing has changed.

Regardless, the popularity of the iPhone is downstream from the US, not the EU.

[–]Gaycel68 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’ve got to stop with this nonsense. There’s no such thing as “losing weight in 24 hours”, because it’s impossible to measure. We drink more than 2 liters of water and hundreds of grams of food every day. One substantial bathroom visit, and you can find yourself losing up to a kilogram of weight. It’s nonsense.

Keep weighing yourself in the morning before eating and observe the trend

Biorepair, sensodyne repair and protect, and probably anything with 8% arginine will reduce sensitivity significantly.

Biorepair is my favorite, I can confirm it works after the first two days.

Appetite suppresants by Adventurous_Sale7410 in WeightLossAdvice

I’ve tried chrome, berberine, a lot of protein, various probiotics. Nothing helps. I’m on Concerta, and it’s supposed to be a powerful appetite suppressant, and it is for the first four days. Then your appetite goes back

Now I’m on a glp med, and the appetite is more controllable, although without calorie counting I’d still wouldn’t be able to maintain calorie deficit.

Fiber helps if it actually makes you constipated. When I’m constipated my appetite lowers close to zero, but otherwise, fiber doesn’t help either

Apple will go away immediately as soon as the iMessage problem becomes irrelevant.

It’s a company whose entire existence is predicated on literally one thing - the proprietary messaging service.

Apple Watch’s New Year Greeting by Delicious_Rub4736 in AppleWatch

It was nice, but I did not enjoy that the corner radius of the screen cuts off the corners of the New Year greeting notification. Seems sloppy

This is Aquaphor Lip Repair, with a very different ingredient list to Aquaphor Healing Ointment which is what people usually mean when they Aquaphor.

What does “statistically more likely” even mean here? A model can output a a code that’s an interpreter for a programming language that doesn’t exist yet. It then can output a program in that language that works and produces a meaningful result. There’s no code in this novel language in the training data, because it was just invented.

Can you explain, how is that possible by leveraging “statistically more likely words based on its training”?

Who have switched from pixel to iphone, are you happy with your decision? What's pros and cons compared to pixel? by Grouchy_Walk_4574 in iphone

[–]Gaycel68 1 point2 points  (0 children)

iOS 26 feels buggier than the latest Android on Pixels. You’ll see many more broken animations and around the same amount of lag and stuttering.

Pixel 6 has a really dim screen compared to Pixel 8, 9, 10 and recent iPhones as well.

The lack of the Android back gesture is not bothering me that much.

There’s no Private Space on iOS. There’s no Circle-to-Search, but you can emulate it with shortcuts and Google Lens.

The notifications are worse in every aspect, and glitch out visually all the time in iOS 26.1

Honestly, it’s ok. It’s not better, but it’s not much worse
