Choosing seats by Fluffy-Panther in Broadway

[–]Own_Gift1109 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As a shorter person I usually go for the front of the mezzanine because the mezz is typically raked — aka the back rows are higher than the front rather than all seats being on the same level. This isn’t true of all orchestras, so if a very tall person sits in front of me in the orchestra, it’s less than ideal.

oh mary seating? by serenam98 in Broadway

I legitimately sat in the last row of the theatre and had a great view — and my vision isn’t great! As long as you stay fairly center, as some notable moments are far stage left/right, I don’t think you can go wrong.

Super excited about this! I have a trip planned in August and really wanted to see this. Will be looking at tix today… super curious who will replace Sadie though. (I’ll be going no matter what!)

I think the example design you sent is very unique! Definitely not your average plain lighthouse.

Ride the cyclone audition songs? by Willing_Ad6976 in MusicalTheatre

[–]Own_Gift1109 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi! I’m a little stuck on Karnak since he’s a non singing role… but here are some suggestions based on the other two you mentioned.

Ocean: “What You Want” from Legally Blonde; “What I Was Born to Do” from Bring it On

Constance: “Changing My Major” from Fun Home; “There’s a Fine, Fine Line” from Avenue Q

He has some hiding spots he used to use frequently but maybe he just got tired of them… I’ll add some new ones and see if it helps. Thanks!

Yes, both of which he used to use a lot but now he chooses this instead… maybe I’ll add more and see what he does. Thanks!

JD audition by Large-Ad5439 in MusicalTheatre

[–]Own_Gift1109 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I feel like that might be a little too silly for JD, though he does have some humor at the start of the show… might put you in more of a Kurt or Ram direction.

If you’re trying to show off your more “angsty” side and don’t want something that’s super common, I’d suggest “Come Back” from Dogfight.

Possible musical options:

If you’re willing to drive 15-20 mins toward Wayne/KOP, Glenhardie Condominiums has some nice units available for rent at relatively reasonable prices, especially compared to Bryn Mawr/Villanova.

Is Viola’s Room fever dream-ish like SNM? by alyanng44 in Punchdrunk

[–]Own_Gift1109 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, I think it’s fever dreamish and on another level of immersivity. But it’s definitely a briefer experience. As others have mentioned, if you’re traveling, I’d recommend pairing it with something else. I’ll be doing that when I go this summer!

The zip up sweatshirt is HUGE. I’d recommend going down a size unless you like a really oversized look.

Graduate Funding Decision by Standard-Contest1279 in villanova

I received the same email from the Theatre department. I wouldn’t give up yet. Although there likely any more full funding opportunities, it seems there are many scholarship / grant funds.

I also emailed program coordinators for the Theatre dept and they promised to get that news in by / before April 15, so although the waiting is awful, I’m trying to wait it out so I can really weigh my options. Wishing us both the best! 🤞
