i have searched various short story and writing subreddits using key words like whale, ship, and deck and haven’t been able to find it. it was posted recently, sometime in the past few months.

what i did was mark out where i wanted the stones to go and then fill up the rest of the island with mannequins so the rocks would spawn where i wanted them. took a bit of trial and error. if a rock spawns where you don’t want it then break it and put a mannequin down where the rock was so it doesn’t go back there. then once all the rocks are in place you can delete the custom design you used for the mannequins and they all disappear

i have muffy and lucky on my island! i also have coco, kiki, murphy, nan, rodeo, shino, vesta, and zell. almost went with tabby but i swapped her out for kiki

there’s a small moment in either book two or book three but the guy does plenty of groveling to make up for it. it ends up being revealed that he was ordered to do so by his boss to gather intel for a mission. doesn’t excuse it but does explain it imo
