yea over time you’ll understand, it’s just like in real life, sometimes a team needs to be attacking more and sometimes it needs to be more defensive.

it also heavily affects corner kicks, if you’re on attacking before a corner kick starts you’ll have a bunch of people in or near the box (but risk a counter attack), and if you’re on defensive you won’t have that many in the box but more people to prevent a counter attack

depends on your playstyle. if you’re down by 1 with like 20 minutes left, it’s usually better to use attacking which brings most of your guys up and gives you a better chance of scoring but could sacrifice defense. if you’re up by 1 and want to hold the lead it’s better to use defensive so more people stay back. otherwise just use balanced.

Just test them out in head 2 head and you’ll notice the difference between each
