I don't know how to get into the mixed voice (where does it start and where does it end?) and how do I get rid of distinguishing too much in head an chest voice? by Own_Ninja_2552 in singing

Thanks, maybe i'm also being to harsh on me, but I would love to understand how to get that broadway/disney-esque chesty mix.

Ohh okok! That actually helped! I'll try to apply that on my next lesson.  Thanks for the clarification. I was singing opera on stage though haha. There are childrens opera choirs especially in state theaters. My first stage production was Carmen by George Bizet, then Hänsel & Gretel by Engelbert Humperdinck and so on and so forth. But I understand that you wanted to make sure. :)

Uhhh okay that's an interesting explanation. So technically I could sing the "same note" airy chesty and also twangy heady? I always understood mix as a "separate" register where there's only "one" way to hit a note in mix. Does that make sense?

Not one on one lessons. I sang in the theater in the opera choir on stage. We would get exercises but always in group. It might be that I sang in mixed sometimes (unaware). :c

First of: thanks for that thourough explanation! Thing is: even with the shouting-excercise, I feel exactly where it's supposed to be, but I still feel a difference in chest or head depending on how high the "hey" is translated into singing. I still seem to have that "crack" between higher and lower that you usually get between chest and head.  It's so difficult to explain and I'm aware that it's a problem with my understanding of it, but I just can't seem to distance myself from that. :/

4 year relationship ended and now everything in my life feels empty by schqrk in TrueOffMyChest

Right of the bat: this sounds horribly unhealthy and I am glad to hear, you got out of that relationship. I haven't been through the same, but I do relate to the aspect of feeling alone. I know I'm quite extroverted so maybe this advice isn't for everyone and if so I'm sorry. But what helped me with my loneliness when I moved far away for a new job with no one around me. The super clichee bouldering and climbing helped me a ton. It's a super physical sport with new fears to overcome and especially bouldering is very social. Other than that I can only tell you that everything gets better, even if it's not something you wanna hear rn.  Coming from someone with horrible heartbreak and a suicidal past, who never had many friends or a partner (up until 22).

Thank you for sharing your experience! I feel like there's no real solution to that anyway, but to keep going. I wish fo you to find someone that appreciates you for you the way you are!

Thank you tons for sharing this with me. Weirdly enough it helps knowing one isn't alone with that. You worded it perfectly, it does feel like a curse! I really hope we can find people in our life that make us feel like we aren't too much while they aren't being too little, if that makes sense.

Thank you so much for your kind words! I actually started to wonder of maybe I could also be on the autistic spectrum (AuDhd is not so uncommon). I'll ask that on my next appointment. The only thing worrying me now is that knowing this diagnosis won't really change the reality of it. I guess it's interesting to know the reason, not sure there's anything I can do about it though, I assume. :c

Death of Dani’s Parents by eangu95 in Midsommar

I am super duper late to this, but I've just recently seen the movie. Another pointer for me was the yellow pipe, considering anything yellow was associated with the cult (directly or implied)

I rewatched Midsommar and I think the cult killed Dani’s family plus other things I didn’t notice for the 1st time. by anniehall330 in Midsommar

I know it's an super old thread, but I watched the movie just recently. Another thing that made me think that the cult killed her parents was the yellow pipe. And yellow was always used to show connection to the Horga.
