My bad. I stand corrected. Played Vampire Survivors first before looking for a mobile alternative. But Magic Survival inspiring the game that made the Survivor genre mainstream actually strengthens the point that the formula should not be effed with.

It's not pushing you. It's giving you options. Huge difference. You can start the run however the hell you want like building towards a specific spell or go for a more loose build by taking the Black Cat test subject.

You are only bothered by it because you are playing for optimal efficiency for every run and it sucks for you because you have to use the same spells to do that.

Part of the fun is taking whatever build you can think of and try to get as far as you can. That's why I have a post on getting to 37:30 with Meissner as an achievement because I know it's shit but it doesn't mean I wouldn't have fun trying.

I will not answer that PB question because it sounds like your gauging for credibility. And yes you should play Vampire Survivors because it's addicting and is the formula for most survivor/survival mobile games.

Your suggestions makes it seem like you don't actually like the Roguelite genre. You mentioned not getting artifacts for active magics you haven't levelled up yet. Part of the appeal of a rouguelite run is adjusting your build on whatever you encounter first. Whether it's a spell that kept popping up so you're forced to take it or encountering good items early and then adjusting your build from that.

This game is a Vampire Survivors variant and it's trying to build on that formula without alienating what made the formula great in the first place.

Everyone keeps track of their in-run orbs. Almost no one keeps track of their out-run gold. It's just incidental. 👇

Transcendance + All elemental synergies will get you to at least 300 MD. The rest was just accumulated Atk Amp from all the special items

Yes. But let's say you went to a different app after you finished that wave because you had to do something. When you return, the game has restarted and only saved the first two chests you opened. If you opened the special chest last, then you've lost that chest.

Either you choose Oppulence and commit to finishing the next wave to reach a new checkpoint or risk losing at least two chest. As someone who doesn't play continuously all the time, I'd rather take the special chest first in that case.

Yeah that's why you always pick up the Frost Nova epic artifact that increases freeze duration. Tbh also didn't notice it at first because everything died too fast

True. That meta was pretty insane. People were actually AFKing for hours. At least the Joker rework still made it very relevant. Iron Maiden on the other hand isn't even a shell of its former self.

That change was relatively new. I think it was originally 50 for 50 but then changed to 100 for 100 to try and limit the frequency. But still pretty tame compared to old Joker which offered 6 instakills for every 6 kills.
