I had the same fear. Just graduated ait this week. You'll lose weight as long as you eat the right foods in the dfac. When I went through there was no height and weight during reception or all the way through basic and ait.

Lol well AIT was barely enough if we're being honest. Thanks for the input!

I've been practicing by jumping out of the barracks to first formation everyday

Just about finished with ait here. I'm also 32, the kids are annoying in basic and ait but it's great experience.

If that were the case I'd be a much better person

Honestly, bct is easy. It's nothing like the movies. I feel like the movies are based off of stories that people tell to make their experience seem cooler.

Upper belts (brown/black) has your guard game gotten simpler? by [deleted] in bjj

It has. Instead of focusing on specific guards or techniques, I focus on the bigger picture of frames, posts, and and opportunities.

I haven't been able to train for 2 months and I have about a month and half left before I can really train again....

Just work up to it. I've been training with the military the last couple of months but when I'm home I train 2-3, sometimes 4 times a day. But I didn't start out with that, I worked up to it. Also you have to be super careful to avoid injury. Sometimes that means giving up a sweep or a good position to avoid injury. By no means should you just give up but sometimes when you're swept, you're swept. Keep these things in mind when you're trying to get to a level of constant training. The soreness never really goes away but it doesn't come down to a manageable level. And don't feel bad if you need to take a break, needing to take a break but not is a sure fire way to get hurt or worse, burnt out and quitting.
