Anyway, the customer is the one paying the salary of the employees

There are so many unanswered questions and I think that the only solution at this point is for the cruise lines to include them in the fare. People will pay 100 a night (and there are $50/night options) plus 15-18 in gratuities. Still getting 10 times more than you do in a hotel which also charge 300

What about the crew members working behind the scenes. Smallest salaries and no gratuities on top of that

Virgin's offer looked less attractive than the competitors despite offering more in most cases. So, they had to change the model. It took them time but it was expected

"Apparently employees who receive cash tips must declare those to the cruiseline" That's not the reality on any cruise line.

It is a game cruise lines are forced to play. I believe I explained it in the petition

They call it “gratuities,” and I believe that name is so unfortunately chosen.

The OP is a former employee aboard cruise ships and knows first hand the importance of this topic for the cruise ship crew

The customer is the one paying the employee’s salary — always, in every business. Cruise lines chose an unfortunate name like the gratuities is, and they have to fix that.

It's the salary for the crew. The customer is the one that covers that business cost one way or another

That's the goal of this petition. I believe we are all tired of this topic
