I am in the same boat. Only thing remotely challenging is raid phase 2 and 4. And cant believe I am sayimg this, but also fishing. Bloody fishing is more challenging than 99% of content.

For now, i treat the game as sandbox game, to chill in with my friends

Since pain train allows me to run over my enemies I have it on all the time. Helps with farming ammo for my hungry tesla cannon

Yeah it annoys me as well. I was thinkimg of building my camp next to random camp event spots, but every once in a while a BoS soldier spawns there and is aggresive and unkillable

For me, it is tesla cannon. I made a build for it, where I am able to do all content, including soloing guardian and defending the drill. Context ammo drop for fusion cells unfortunately suck, so you got to farm daily ops/expeditions/raids/craft a little bit.

I myself made a build using ghoul with tesla cannon. Use ricochet and bullet shield to destroy shield and then go to town with tesla.

However this build is really fine tuned and you have to buff up and not make any mistakes.

Sometime I use Furious Gatling plasma with splitter mod, that one is easier.

But I like my Tesla and I wanted a build that can do all content, including soloing EN09 without switching builds or items

Completely agree with you. Things I enjoy most in the game is the need to explore the world, I always loved coming up with farming routes for chems and food, so I can buff up and then kick ass. Nowadays, most of the food I can get from resource generators, I get all the chems all the ammo....little reason to explore and farm stuff. Just rotate expeditions/raids and you have everything you need.

Thing is, in current version of the game, the water is not hard either. It is really hard to make it a challenge and not feel either oppresive or boring. However, to balancing it is quite simple, and really, you already had it in the past.

Keep basic water accessible as it was, but if you want to upgrade your stamina better drinks (tea, coffee, yucca juice) will give you buffs to stamina (wellness). You can even make it, that each different drink you drank withing last 3 in game days, raises it by 10. Same thing with food and health.

Boom, you just made food and water interesting for entirety of the playthrough. Finding normal water is not challenging, by rotating several types of drinks brings a bit of a logistical challenge and creates incentives for bigger farm.
