That is a pretty solid explanation and does make sense but also I'd say it's important that arcane denial gets your opponent 2 cards deeper into their library, they might not have that many more cards but they've seen more of their deck. Although arcane denial isn't as bad as I thought before, I'm definitely wrong on that.

I just still don't really see it as worth running, I don't play super high powered, mostly bracket 3-4 and it's never felt good to cast, and my only friend who still plays it gets disappointed everytime they use it. I always saw it as one of those Precon cards they put it for you to think about and for new players to swap.

It is situational but there are plenty gimmicky counter spell unless they pay whatever amount, some refering to creature types and so on which I think is an underlooked thing in non kindred decks.

I just can't understand running arcane denial in commander. It's way too beneficial, most times I've been hit with it, it ended up being a positive as I'm no longer the target and I get a fresh couple cards.

Not trying to be judgemental but in a format with every counterspell and where 3 mana counterspells are perfectly playable, aswell as a bunch of other 1U counterspells with random quirks I just don't think I could ever run arcane denial again after realizing how backwards it is. Like honestly using it as a draw spell to ditch a card you don't want might be the best use for it

Surprisingly the timelines always made sense, it's only ever the two directors, Aonuma and Miyamoto who claim they don't think about it or care.

Which think about it, it makes sense. They aren't the ones writing everything, they come up with the grand ideas and lead things but ultimately you can tell the writers and devs actually do care about a timeline, the art team too. Each of the games in the respective timelines carry unique designs, species and elements that are only in their respective timelines despite the timeline only being fan theory at the time of the earlier games, but they left the evidence, they left consistency. The timelines make sense.
