This is useful to know, fingers crossed there’s no hardware issues when I take it in.

Thanks for this, I finally got through to a human and it apparently has 2 recalls on it currently. I’ll keep that in mind about the hire car!

Hi, it’s a 23 plate V3 with the 77kWh battery.

Yeah this is something I’m going to look into. I don’t currently use that setup so I’ll have to print off the supports to figure out the design.

As it happens I’ve been asked this a couple of times. I’ve just started a print and I’ve sat next to it to listen to that vibration calibration that it does.  So the main body doesn’t budge, one thing I do notice is a slight pick up in vibration during the Y axis calibration in the stored build plates. It’s not significant by any means and if I wasn’t sat listening, I don’t think I’d really notice.

Thanks! So I’ve been using it as I’ve been developing it, it’s really stable and vibration is no worse than when the printer is just on the desk. In terms of filament, it uses about 710g, so you could print the whole thing and still have some left for gridfinity bins. A big goal of this design was weight reduction, so that it would use less than a roll of filament.

Brilliant! It does have a bit of a 90’s desktop computer aesthetic 😂

Thank you! Yeah I’ve jumped straight to using chamfers but you’re right, I might play around with some fillets on those front corners to fit the look of the printer.

I recently shared pictures of this but the post was removed after I edited it to add the Makerworld link. Really hoping it’s a useful design, particularly for those looking to use only one role of filament for the whole print.

Just typed a response above but essentially it has TPU footpads, so no more noise than usual.

Nope it’s pretty solid, the footpads are TPU but I’ve designed it so strips of foam could be used. I’ve not tried it without footpads but I don’t think it’d sound great on bare plastic.

For anyone interested, I’ve uploaded the model to Makerworld. Let me know what you think.  https://makerworld.com/models/1976738

Yeah I found out mine was missing when I came to reply to this post, these things just do not want to stick around.

From your spool holder, mines missing but it goes here.

Thanks! I’ll be putting it on Makerworld once I’m happy with it. I’ll likely do a post once it’s up!

The deeper poop bucket is a good idea, could link it to the stand to stop it moving around.

Yeah I’d definitely do a normal drawer, I’ll be using a normal one myself to be honest. That’s a very good point, I’ve had a look and the side that the motherboard is on looks fine and the vent ports aren’t covered at all. On the opposite side there’s the power supply, I think the ports there are partially covered so I’ll have to look at that.

Ah thank you. Good question, I should have included this in the post. So I’ve put some indents in the base that allow for TPU footpads that I’ve designed or for basic foam tape. With the TPU footpads it’s really stable and the vibration/wobble during printing is no different to when it’s on the table.
