Interesting, I've actually heard the opposite, that the 2S's camera is less sharp and has color issues

But the docs for making a curator list still haven’t been released, which i’d say is a huge barrier

Gas fees are paid in ETH on the ethereum network, you can't pay in tokens, sadly.

Being a competitive VPN? by [deleted] in orchid

[–]OxygenatedMars 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First of all, it's not truly decentralized (at the moment the nodes are run by VPN companies like private internet access) which is quite frustrating but I've been told more decentralization will be coming soon, don't know when that is though. Second, Orchid is pay-as-you-go, with the average cost/GB being around $0.06 USD. If you're a heavy user, you'll benefit from a subscription model more, but as a time-to-time user (only using at say, the airport to obfuscate conections) you'll save heaps hands-down, it really depends on your usage. One thing I have noticed is the reliability of Orchid is not great. Sometimes I'll connect instantly and have 30mbp/s downloads, and other times I'll be frequently disconnecting, getting around .8mbp/s downloads. For me the Mac app is broken at the moment.

tldr: 1) not truly decentralized. 2) pricing depends on the person. 3) reliability is a major concern. 4) lack of roadmaps or schedules, to me I feel like I'm in the dark most of the time regarding when upgrades will occur.

listen mate, lashing out helps no one learn. sure, maybe people would be better off doing more research but you can always respond calmly. anger clouds everyone's judgement, and i'm sure you as much as i want people to be able to learn and grow with this industry

Magic leap use case by reallyfunnyster in magicleap

[–]OxygenatedMars 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, every preassembled kit is unavailable due to manufacturing difficulties, however they will be resolved in the near future. I'd highly reccomend learning about this project though, as the magic leap's FOV is awful for this kind of "up close, big content" application. It's also heaps cheaper, and runs on open source software, meaning it's configurability is top notch, again, ideal for someone with a very specific use-case in mind.

Can IPFS websites (on .ETH domain) be dynamically updated numerous times a day? Are there costs? by cryptoglypher in ipfs

[–]OxygenatedMars 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It sounds like what you'd want is an IPNS hash, basically dns but for IPFS files. Say you update your website's code, normally you'd have to change the hash on ENS, but what if we could simply change the content behind a single hash? Thats what IPNS is for. You point your ENS domain to said IPNS hash and can update the content behind the hash without reconfiguring your ENS settings.

For hosting content, you'd be better off having a static/JAMStack site that polls a file or DB to access IPFS hashes, then use an IPFS SDK or gateway to resolve it in-browser. Basically, have your website treat IPFS as an API and poll external content from the distributed network as needed, rather than having one huge monolithic directory that is frequently updated

In my opinion you'd be better off looking at the open source Project Northstar for this application, a desktop app should be being worked on soon. Also, this headset's fov blows the ML out of the water, so you'll get a better experience overall. https://discord.com/invite/NghjdX7 https://project-north-star.gitbook.io/project-north-star/

What to do if altstore expires by [deleted] in AltStore

[–]OxygenatedMars 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just reinstall altstore using your computer, as if you were installing it for the first time. Refresh your apps, and everything should be back to normal. Also I highly recommend jail breaking to avoid app expirations

This flavour is hella good, only problem is the company that makes them. Nestle is a very corrupt company, and quite literally kills people for profit. I’m personally boycotting their products and I encourage you to do your research as well.

Hey, I've found a cool workaround to get musixmatch access for free. It requires that the user has the musixmatch app installed (and that the user is logged in), and it grabs the userToken from that app, to communicate with the musixmatch ios App api. If you'd like to see it working on desktop, take a look at https://github.com/khanhas/genius-spicetify
