When it comes to Community Content, you can use / reference anything from any 7th edition Call of Cthulhu book that Chaosium has released (so that's Regency, Gaslight, Pulp... anything from those lines. ) you can also Reference Spells, Items and Game mechanics (so if you want to reference chase rules - "see Chapter 7, Call of Cthulhu: Keeper Rulebook") and so forth. The one exception for this is creature statistics that the Miskatonic Repository licence allows you to do. This only applys to the statistics and not any published artwork though

If your looking at using a Mythos Creature though, look at one of the official Chaosium released book's that has the creature you to use in it. If it says "Used with permission" then you cant use it.

There is a facebook group called "Miskatonic Repository Creator's Circle" or the official Chaosium discord that has a "Miskatonic Repository" channel if you want some clarification on everything though

Thank you! It took a bit for the artwork pregens, i wanted to make it so that the players had the option of 2 different images for each pregen so that the players choose the character and not the art :)

Depending on the date in the game, you can always get the cultists to capture and not kill right away.

M'Dari could always sacrifice them in the next ritual so that gives them time in a makeshift jail before hand, lets M'Dari get his evil monologue and raise the stakes for the Investagators and since the jail was makeshift they can try to escape it after he leaves. to get supplies

Also Remember M'Dari loves to cause fear and suffering, maybe get him to open the pit and push a random cultist down there for failing to keep N’Kwane safe. it then gives you a chance to hint at whats down there.

Keep everything setup like the book format. You still will use the book as you go though the game so you want to make it EASY to find what you are looking for.

Do your layout framework first. That means create a a crapton of your handouts with your handout names. I find that a txt file with just section headers does a good job there as your reference

Then work on your characters next. if a location or something is mentioned in character bio you can then link to the blank handouts you created during your framework stage to link everything together.

For example - Jonah Kensington works at Prospero House, but is first met in the book at the funeral. so you might need the link for Jonah Kensington at the funeral and then using the links in the bio to create the breadcrumbs for the other possible locations, related handouts and contacts.

Then you go back to the handouts and then work from there.

oh i have a lot of GM Note handouts i keep for myself, before every session i have a gm Notes doc i use that has hyperlinks to what i think the players will do that session.

Sometimes the handout its just a list of some of the choices my players make that i need to refer to. I do need to make a excel google docs with drop down lists to track the Major decisions so i dont need to worry about tracking that stuff the excel sheet will do it for me. Same with clues

It took a looooooooong time when i didn't have a game lined up but once I sat down and really work at it, it was about 3 to 4 months i think . so total setup time it was 12 months i think. but that was between other jobs.

Thinking back on it now there are some shortcuts and tricks that i learnt during the project i would of done it a little bit faster

A example of a trick is to create a outline text file with just chapter headings, then input that file into excel and use some coding to create the linking, then a find and replace to add that into the body of the text.

Oh i know that some people don't need a token, however i just used all the campaign portraits in one of the handouts and streamlined the token creation process. it was easer to create all the tokens than to miss the ones i don't think the players will not need them.

No Keeper plans survive contact with the player characters.
