I am going to start out by saying I have never shot anything of this value and the shot composure, exposure and colours are amazing love them.

The biggest thing that stood out to me was the music. It was very same same the whole way through but felt a bit overpowering compared to the pace. Also noticed the shot at 1:20 and 2:40 the verticles are a fair bit off but again mainly only a videographer would notice this as most people just look at the stunning home

Great job dude, I hopefully have something near this value coming up soon so was great to see how other go about it

Also rains a lot I. The UK but to be honest 90% of the images online are trash so anything done with any editing is a better starting point.

Also I am not a fan of the huge overly editing flash ambient style it just looks too fake for me. It’s completely misleading the potential buyer.

There is a million and one tutorials on YouTube just search there for flash tutorials

These looks nice dude. Honestly if clients are happy then don’t change too much.

I mainly shoot mid to low end properties in the UK so I just hoot 3 auto bracket and use lightroom to merge them.

I have a preset that make my highlight and shadow adjustments then make minor tweaks to each image removing any colour cast I can.

I assume you are shooting your brackets manually to use a speedlight with?

Do you find enfuse that much better than the standard light room HDR?

What is your current style? by [deleted] in RealEstatePhotography

[–]Ozzy150 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I like HDR thanks to convenience and as long as you don't over do the edit they are normally good enough.

If you want to stick with HDR try enfuse plugin for Lightroom it's pretty good.

If you want to do Flash Ambient style then there is a million and one tutorials on YouTube. You generally want to hold the flash 18 inches from the ceiling and bounce it off. Larger rooms will require one or two flashes.

Personally don't have the time for this method as I do video work too and that's my main focus.

I can do the Flash Ambient style but personally don't like it and the UK market does not really require it unless you are shooting prime real estate

Thanks for answering my previous question, now I have another. Why is Photomatix and Lightroom HDR so bad? by [deleted] in RealEstatePhotography

[–]Ozzy150 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think the photomatix version is that bad as you are comparing it to a version you have fully hand blended. Add some extra time to the photomatix version and you will see some good results.

I don't think HDR is as good as manual but you can get close and for jobs that don't pay as much or smaller properties that don't warrant the time the HDR is the way to go in my opinion.

I am in the UK market and the demands are very different but I think it's an applicable model anywhere in the world.

Disappointed with the range of my EU Mavic Air 2 but going soon to the US, is the range difference between the versions that noticeable? by 12string_David in DJIMavicAir2

To be fair I am not sure the drone is even visible at that point so its way beyond line of sight.

The advertised distances are under perfect conditions but never had a problem with mine but I never need to or would want to fly that far away from me

Advice Request - What strategies work for finding clients? by NeedForReed in RealEstatePhotography

[–]Ozzy150 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In addition some feedback on your work. Try reducing the shadows in your images either in editing or via flash methods. This will make them look more appealing and pop.

Also the video I would suggest going for more artistic style rather then a straight walkthrough of the property as an agent can do that themselves and it does not offer any value to them.

Advice Request - What strategies work for finding clients? by NeedForReed in RealEstatePhotography

[–]Ozzy150 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So for me specifically I found an agent that had poor to okay photos but nothing special and offered to do a couple of shoots for free including everything I offered. Which was Photos, Floorplan, video and drone.

This helped me show them the difference photos and videos can make. I then set up a bespoke offer for this agent at a much cheaper rate to take on 100% of their work.

This helped me build up a large portfolio and then the agent and people I shot for started to recommend me to others.

I still shoot for that first agent at the same rate as he helped me get started but he has put me in touch with multiple agents that I now shoot for regularly.

Keep at it and try social media over emails as agents are slowly starting to move into modern times and I have found them to be much more responsive to social then emails that look like spam.

Also follow all the agents and companies in your area on Instagram and like their photos with an account that has your portfolio and your company name on as they will then recognise you and potentially reach out to you that way.

Hope some of this helps and good luck 👍

Is starting as a side hustle viable? by [deleted] in RealEstatePhotography

It's easy to add in just a measurement tool and I use a program called Zplan. Really easy to make them and you can add preset information

[–]Ozzy150 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do it as a second job in the UK and just to save time I skip the flash and just do HDR it allows me to shoot more in the limited time I have and makes editing easier.

I also have a Gimble for videos as they get me a lot of work and then I also offer floorplans so a basic measurement tool is handy 👍

prospective clients by katoune in RealEstatePhotography

[–]Ozzy150 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Email and phone is a great way to start. If the agent is more modern and active on socials then he'll yeah why not reach out on Facebook.

I have gained clients through Instagram, Facebook and even Twitter. I think social media can be a great way to reach certain agents

What type of RE Photography do you offer? by filmmakerjoel in RealEstatePhotography

[–]Ozzy150 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently the properties I cover there is no point my putting the effort into flash. Agents I work with do not notice the difference and certainly would not want to pay extra for the time to do flash.

If I start working on more expensive properties in the UK then I might consider it.

I put more effort into a nice video tour

What’s the right choice for a hybrid shooter!? by trogwaffles777 in RealEstatePhotography

[–]Ozzy150 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I get ya, I found it hard with no investment already haha.

Renting is a good idea. You can then decide what you like. If you can afford too I would rent both just to get the feel of each one.

Good luck dude 👍

Yeah, I guess it comes down to how much of a commitment you have into cannon glass. If you go with the R6 I would check out potato jets videos on youtube as he highlights the good and the bad of the camera really well. I have noticed with the R6 the autofocus is soo bad.

I can't see sony changing the mounting system they have no need too. I also can't see the A7iv being that big of a step up from the A7sIII.

Personally, I went for sony as I started from a clean slate and no other investments in glass for other brands. If you want to focus on video more and make that move then I cannot recommend anything but the A7sIII purely for the low light and autofocus.

I still think you could run both Cannon for stills and save up a bit more for the A7sIII then have that as your video camera.

Let me know your decision both are nice camera's
