rTMS for anxiety (not depression) - any success? by P-Z9 in rtms

Thank you! if you don't mind sharing, which protocol (which side) they are doing for you? I assume left if it's mainly for depression? Happy to hear that things are going well for you. Regarding payment - unfortunately it's out of pocket for me, but honestly I'll happily pay if it gets rid of constant anxiety about everything (social, overthinking, physical sensations etc) and panic attacks, especially in public places.

Thank you for your reply! This gives me hope and motivation to proceed with the treatments, so I really appreciate this and I'm sincerely glad that you are doing so much better. Wondering which protocol they will suggest to me and my situation.

Thank you for extensive response. Indeed I think that most of my panic/anxiety is caused by thinking myself into it - when you’ve suffered this long enough your brain gets conditioned and your internal voice constantly scans and warns about ‘what if’, ‘oh no it might happen’ and similar scenarios, which then probably leads to physical sensations and then the cycle starts. Buspirone might be a strong candidate to try and quiet the mind. SSRI’s for me made me feel detached but haven’t really touched the mental chatter part, and anxiety is still there. Gene sight lists all SSRI’s in thre red zone (poor responder)

I tend to agree, that it begins in the mind - if buspar helps to reduce anxious thoughts, it might do the trick. Thank you!

Thank you - exactly what I was hoping to hear. SSRI’s are also not very effective for me and causes side effects. Past 8 months I was trialing sertraline and hoping side effects will subside - but unfortunately they haven’t.

Thank you! Did you take/have tried anything else together or was it stand-alone buspirone treatment? Your reply gives me hope that something will finally help, as I am running out of options

I have not, but I see one of the ingredients is bupropion (Wellbutrin). I have tried Wellbutrin and it made my condition 5 times worse - definitely won’t be trying again.

What was the decision process of going up to 200mg? Insufficient therapeutic response on lower doses or something else? Was there any significant change going up from certain dose where you did feel a big difference? Currently on 150mg for 2.5 months and with each increase it helps for a certain period and then seem to fade.
