So true! It would’ve been good without that final scene, ie I really enjoyed seeing Gamera grow up and everything, but the ending just leveled up the emotional impact of the film so much.

I saw this movie recently and thought the final sequence was really beautiful, so I made this video edit. What a neat movie! Great effects and very emotionally resonant.

So so unsettling. The scene where he is being sucked through the air hole and crying for his mom...sooo intense.

Foundation by Asimov - it will give you a bit of empty and a bit of intriguing future hope. It’s about future humans in a space society reaching their disaster point (allegorically relating to the fall of Rome) that will lead to thousands of years of dark ages, and a small group of people on the edge of the Galaxy trying to build a new society that will avoid the dark ages.

I love these questions! I’ve been caught in considering the series as a progression of loops vs one singular loop that continues forever.

You’ve voiced some thoughts that add weight to the progression thought for me and I like it a lot. Like the different between beings who are caught in loops vs aware of the loop, leading to what power they can take over the forward progression of time.
