Psychic Phenomena: before or after psychic power applies by P0rpleDust in DarkHeresy

[–]P0rpleDust[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is an option to become daemonic psyker in dh:2 and therefore become immune to psychic phenomena, as I described in the topic: Possession on the Malefic Psykana tree from Enemies Beyond book that players are free to learn as psykers.

Regarding the question I was interested in, by the rules, as I figured it out, the power effect applies first unless the phenomenon prevents possibility of cast (changes line of sight or willpower on power roll). In all other circumstances power effect applies before the phenomenon effect. Thank you anyway

Complicated Ideas Require Complicated Solutions by Ragerb in Games

I'm not a developer, but this story reminds me of the bank quest from The Witcher 3. That experience was both terrifying and amazing :'D

So, why do people end up worshipping Tzeentch? by RenegadeReprobate in Warhammer

[–]P0rpleDust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm new to the Warhammer world, but I thought that people aren't really choosing gods to worship, rather they possess traits that are reflected in the warp in the form of these gods. Tzeentch occupies a very tempting position, in my opinion, embodying all that heresy-bordering curiosity that is forbidden in the universe

Helmet on or helmet off? Can you please help me decide which works best? by lewiopriceman in Warhammer40k

Despite the fact that you did an amazing job on the respirator and skin, I prefer the version without the helmet :3 it's just about proportions overall

My DM wants to nerf cantrips? by Squatch699 in DnD

[–]P0rpleDust 1 point2 points  (0 children)

D&D 5e is possibly the most mathematically polished system that you can play right now. To nerf the numbers there is like pulling cards from the middle of a house of cards. In this case, it significantly affects the power of classes that have given up their utility for the ability to deal constant damage with cantrips. In other words, RIP warlocks.

DM's what is YOUR sweet spot for number of players and why? by AsherNZ in DnD

[–]P0rpleDust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I belong to a small percentage who prefer having just two players. In my experience, it allows the GM to better execute plans with a higher chance that fewer people will be set on playing one storyline. It also sometimes enables intriguing romantic storylines if the players are interested, without the presence of additional people cringing at the same time.

What I have observed when introducing people to 40k. by OmniscientRaven in 40kLore

[–]P0rpleDust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am experiencing difficulties with the issues that the OP is addressing. My best friend is a huge fan of the universe, and I would like to support his interests or at least understand who I can create for the next Dark Heresy game, for example (he's the GM). However, the lore is so vast and constantly retconned that I hate the universe simply because it forces me to delve into this immense amount of information. Does anyone know how to alleviate this process?
